How much do you drink?

Normally a few ciders and a bottle of wine, more on weekends or when at football, events etc. I realise that this is too much but have got right into the routine of it now and to be honest it doesn't seem to effect me, never miss work, appointments etc How much (if any) does everyone else drink?"

I'm finding that a little bit of Irish Whisky is going down very well towards the end the day. Favourites being Teeling and the fancy Jamesons ones you usually only see in Duty Free like Triple Triple and Black Barrel.

"Alcohol is poison to me. Beer, wine and spirits bring me out in a rash and make me smell for days after. I can manage premium Vodkas, but not many. Even then I restrict my alcohol consumption to between 5pm and 8pm. Start any earlier and I'm like a dribbling mong, carry on any later and I can't get out bed the next day. Sadly, on my dads side of the family I have lost many people through addiction of some sort or another."

"Have a love hate relationship with drink...nearly every fuck up in my life (and believe there have been many!) has been booze related. Had some amazing times as well though, there's no denying that. For large parts of my 20s / 30s would often do 48-72 hour benders... definitely took its toll, as not as fresh faced as some in their mid 40s. Done 13 months off booze a few years back (even done Ibiza during that period) and do at least one month a year completely off it. Definitely felt the benefits but can't lie that there are times that I just can't 'get going' like I would have if I had a drink. At the moment I tend to drink once or twice a week, mainly for an occasion/west ham games. My trouble is I don't just do a couple and am an all or nothing type of drinker. That all said I train 6-7 times a week (have done for years) and reckon I'm fitter than most 20-30 year olds!"

"I've cut down a lot in the last 3 months because of circumstance, I got turfed out of my local by the owner (Spurs fan) for giving him a shitload of stick after we beat them in December. I haven't been back in there since (had been drinking in there 20 years) and the pub I use now is a bus ride away. So now I pretty much knocked Friday night and Sunday afternoon on the head and just go up there on a Saturday afternoon. Cut down on the booze, which means I'm smoking less and spending less, that 2-1 win has actually done me a favour."

"Normally work (Gardening) Mon-Weds and occasional Fridays (fortnightly)... I'm normally fucking aching like a right winger after Dicks had assaulted them by Thursday so normally meet the old work mob from 1 to 8pm and basically we get shit faced... that's normally once a week or once a fortnight ... apart from that Sunday a few beers after our vets game... and then just social... gigs, meals out, BBQ's, Rugby, Racing... the usual... only time I normally drink solo is I normally have one beer after getting home from the job... or if sport is on (West Ham/England etc). Bloke I used to work with (now retired) was the biggest drinker I know... 6 foot 7inch... lets put it this way... his Doctor asked him whether he drank a lot... his reply not really... ""Normally get home from work... crack open 3 or 4 bottles of beer"" ""Ok... that's not too bad..."" ""Then open a bottle of wine whilst making the dinner"" ""Ok... you share that "" ""No I have that to myself... however I open another couple of bottles with the meal that I share with my wife.... and then after the meal I start on the shorts and have maybe 4 or 5 brandies as a night cap"" ""Wow... that is a lot .... but as the occasional binge you can recover"" ""Oh... that's every night"" He told me he has never had a hangover"
