Re: Lucas Paquet?°
"fraser - Fair observation, but in reality how many wingers (if they still exist) or left/right sided midfielders stick wide all game, a bit of a thing of the past IMO, particularly since full backs started getting forward."

Re: Lucas Paquet?°
"Of course he's not spending 90 minutes on the left wing, no players stays in one position for a whole game, be he is playing left midfield and spends most of his time there. To make out it's any different is bizarre. I'm not one to make excuses for players, but we have a fantastic central midfielder on our hands, one who could be unbelievable in the right team, system and playing style, and currently he's playing left midfield in a predominantly long ball defensive team. It's no fucking wonder his form has gone."

"Chim - Would tend to agree, he tends to pop up all over, often passing to the other side or falling over. He isn't just stuck out left no matter how many times you read it on here (on average about 100 times a day)"

"cսnt off Moyes all you like but watch Paqueta live and in the stadium and it's clear to see that although he's got an almost psychic relationship with Emerson he's free to roam around the whole midfield. Almost every thing we do well at, he starts the move"

Eerie Descent 12:36 Thu Dec 7 Jesus. That's ground-breaking. Have you ever thought about a career as a football coach?

"Another day, another Tell' classic. Cue numerous posts telling everyone how he was a successful businessman who managed people, played football until he was 49 and has some coaching badges. What a wally."

"You'd think after getting pulled up so many times on here, that he'd start to FACT CHECK himself a bit by now."
Re: Lucas Paquet?°
"honestly Will, do you actually support west ham? season we went down (his last with us), we had a number of injuries to key strikers - hence the desperate signing of Les Ferdinand in January. PDC scored 9 goals in 18 league games. He was our top scorer in the league. and you are asking why he played so much?"

Re: Lucas Paquet?°
"He's obviously lost his form, and it's a real head scratcher as to why. Something changed and his form has dipped. I think we need to do something really outlandish with him, to try and get him back into form. I reckon we should do the unthinkable and play him in central midfield, just to see what he's like there. You never know, he might get his early season form back, when something was different.."

"""I often wondered towards the end of Paolo's career, why we played him so much as we did"" So much?! He played 19 times for us in his last season, including 6 times in his last 6 months with us."
Re: Lucas Paquet?°
"I often wondered towards the end of Paolo's career, why we played him so much as we did. I guess the fact that the fans only seemed to know the Paolo DiCanio songs had a lot to do with it."
Re: Lucas Paquet?°
Reminds me a bit of Dicanio. In that sometimes you wonder what the hell he is playing at only to do something where you go so that why he is in the team. Obv no where near as good as Dicanio though :-).

Re: Lucas Paquet?°
Tired...needs a break... Played in wrong position...not a left winger...wasted there should be central No.10 role... Moyes is incompetent

Re: Lucas Paquet?°
"The point is Paqueta plays best in the middle... Moyes has wingers and I don't mean Benny cos he's not a winger either. We have Bowen, Kudus and Cornet all of them can play left wing he never tries Bowen there as a starter only to mix things up... he just chooses to put a non-winger there in the hope they'll be half decent... so no one should be surprised that Benny, Paqueta and Fornals have all failed there..."

Re: Lucas Paquet?°
"Excellent idea leroys., how about selling kudus as well. That way we would have taken all of the flair out of the team . Personally id be much happier to seem him playing in the middle rather than wasted on the left."

Re: Lucas Paquet?°
"But DM wasn't his Brazil position, until the World Cup. Prior to that they always played with 2 from Fred, Casemiro, Fabinho or Bruno Guimar?£es in the DM roles while Paqueta usually played as a No 10 and sometimes (gasp!) at LW."
Re: Lucas Paquet?°
Moyes is the problem. He can't work his left wingers out. Once Moyes realised Benrahma flattered to deceive he started pushing Fornals there. Now both Fornals and Benrahma have had their form ruined he's shoving Paqueta out there as he is too individual for midfield. It's further evidence that Moyes is poison to attacking football. He bought Paqueta as an attacking midfielder but later spoke that he hadn't known DM was his Brazil position. Solution? Moyes knows. Play him on the LW...

Re: Lucas Paquet?°
"More chance of selling him to the circus than Man City, and I wish Moyes would stop instructing him to pass to the other team and throw himself to the floor, not sure why Moyes does that."
