Moyes being offered a new contract. FFS
Re: Moyes being offered a new contract. FFS
"I'll yell you the split. Those that actually go. Spend their hard earned money, loads of time and effort want him out The ones that watch it from their warm sofas and see te numbers only want him in. Not saying those that don't go are less of fans. Far from it. Geography and circumstance will have an Impact on many. But those that sit through the reality of the tedium and predictability of our play generally are the more likely to want him gone."

Re: Moyes being offered a new contract. FFS
"""Looking at last night’s starting eleven and the bench we were fortunate to get away with a point"" And who's fault is that? Moyes has had a few years now and has not built a squad. He does not play fringe players ever so they aren't match fit and demotivated. He doesn't play youth. Brighton had 11 (eleven) out last night and their players seemed to manage and be able to pass the ball 5 fucking yards"
Re: Moyes being offered a new contract. FFS
"Looking at last night’s starting eleven and the bench we were fortunate to get away with a point. Still in the same position we have been for some time, regarding league games, where we have a competitive best eleven and nothing but fillers on the bench. We need incomers who greatly improve the overall squad. Last night for example the only position that had equal/reasonable cover was goalkeeper."
Re: Moyes being offered a new contract. FFS
"Wonder what Moyes says prospective transfer targets when he’s selling them West Ham and the premiership, these players are all coming from very good teams who will play a possession style game, not this sit behind the ball and hoof it forward hoping for something, oh, and also you’ll have to run your bollocks off chasing after the ball for 75 minutes of every game."
Re: Moyes being offered a new contract. FFS
"Sitting 6th in the league we should be attacking teams at home, not conceding possession and trying to play on the break with no pace wide. Apart from 10 mins before half time Brighton had it too easy and were unlucky to to win."

"Sydney_Iron 11:23 Wed Jan 3 I'm not blinkered. My eyes are open wide. I say what I see. Good record in Europe, yes. But the reality is that 50% of those games are against teams that are Championship and, arguably, even League 1 level. However, I still accept its a very good record. And you ask what people want. I can tell you what they don't want. They don't want us to roll over and play rope-a-dope football against Brighton who have 11 injuries and surrender 70% possession and have two shots on target in 90 minutes. That's what they don't want. And they also don't want their manager to come into his interview beaming like he's won the Champions league telling everyone how fucking pleased he is with the result and the performance. That's what they don't want."

"""There's no agenda/ Its fucking facts. Moyes has been responsible for more losses than wins because of his tinkering, his small time mindset and his persistence to get through a game unscathed rather than go and win it"" Really??? Moyes in the 3 seasons in Europe has Won 24, Drawn 4 and lost 3 Throw in the 6th and 7th place finishes in the PL, ok last season was bit shit but we are back up in the league this season and currently 6th. Im not sure what people want TBH? And have to agree with others, we win its down to the players and nothing to do with Moyes, we lose or draw its all down to Moyes. Blinkered or What????"

"marty feldman 9:49 Wed Jan 3 There's no agenda. When we win its because the players player really well. When we lose its because of Moyes selection, formation and set up. End of. There's no agenda/ Its fucking facts. Moyes has been responsible for more losses than wins because of his tinkering, his small time mindset and his persistence to get through a game unscathed rather than go and win it. This is not an agenda. Its plan hard facts."
Re: Moyes being offered a new contract. FFS
"Oh well, only another two seasons of the Moyes dross, then Sullivan will go all expansive and appoint Roy Hodgson."
Re: Moyes being offered a new contract. FFS
"marty feldman 9:49 The game against Brighton was against a team with 11 injured players out. We actually had 5 out but two of those were the CB pairing that played in the Arsenal win so really only 3 out. We hung on for the draw at home. 6th in the league and we hang on with a massed defence. I blame the manager for that as I explained at length in my earlier post. To summarise, it's his small time mindset and the way that he falls out or ignores non-playing squad members. Was Johnson so much worse than Coufal? I don't think so but he will be going soon because he has not been nurtured as young players should be when they have dodgy periods. Why did Benrahma have his best game for us all season so why ddi he get pulled when the worst two players were Fornals and Soucek that are only useful at shutting opponents down or blocking shots? Fornals has never been a LWer. Why was he moved over to replace our most creative player Benrahma? What possible chances are going to come to a youth striker when he gets isolated without any skilful attacking help? Can you not see all of this going on marty? It's not hatred of Moyes but hatred of what he's doing badly... ."

Re: Moyes being offered a new contract. FFS
"All I can say is thank god for Dean Ashton. On way home last night I was listening to TS. And what transpired was great radio. Not sure if anyone heard it bot for those that didn't (I'll do my best to recall it as clearly as possible). Adrian Durham came on after the game (which he and Ashton had commentated on) and he basically started baiting the West Ham fans. Saying how quiet they were and how poor their support was. Said that they are sixth in the league and should be bouncing. Yet, here was a game where the team needed them and we let the team down. How we should be singing 'champions of Europe, you'll never sing that' and reminding the players that we've not forgotten the great nights they gave us. How the fans deserted the players last night etc etc blah blah blah. I know its all to wind people up and get them calling into the Sports Bar making fools of themselves to Cundy and whatever cսnt he's got with him. I get it. But Ashton called Durham out big time. He said basically 'hold on a minute' and went on to to Durham and said you rung me a few weeks ago when we got this match and said you are interested in this game because it seems West Ham are doing well but there' still a lot of anti-Moyes feeling so I'd be interested to see why. Ashton said well there you go. You've seen it. So why are you digging the fans. You've just watched a West Ham side at home surrender 70% possession to Brighton, play rope-a-dope football and have two attempts at goal in 90 mins. Yet you want the fans to be bouncing. He said this was an inept performance that quite frankly is unacceptable for West Ham. They've basically come out tonight and set up not to lose. And this is against a Brighton team with six injuries. And for what? Because Kudus and Paqueta are out. West Ham lose two key players and they surrender at home to Brighton? He said those players were given clear instructions tonight on how not to lose the game... Not go and win it. And you expect the place to be rocking. He said to Durham, you are supporter, so you get it. And you know its the players and the team that get the fans bouncing, not the other way around. How on earth are West Ham fans supposed to be rocking when for 70% of a 90 minutes they are watching the opponent with the ball. Its not sustainable. And he said and this performance is not uncommon. The West Ham fans are tired and drained of Moyes style which during a 90 minutes only gives you a few opportunities to get out your seat. This has been going on for 2 seasons. The fans are bored. And he finished by saying you can harp on about 'we won a European trophy' and 'we are 6th in the league' and 'we are only West Ham and look what we've achieved' but he said 'Adrian, the fans are bored by Moyes style'. End of. And he said and now you have witnessed it first hand. Imagine sitting through that week in and week out. Yes, there are times and games when its brilliant. But like in the games, for 70% of the time its dull. What followed was bizarre. Durham completely flip-flopped and started baiting Moyes. Telling him if he doesn't change then he'll get sacked. Saying he's got to set up to go out and win rather than not lose. How fans watching Brighton dominate possession and chances at London Stadium is unacceptable. It was very odd. I realise its all to get people wound up and phoning in. But just thought I'd share as I think Ashton made some superb points, defended the fans and called out Moyes very eloquently to the point of saying to Durham at the end, so when you call out West Ham fans for not worshipping David Moyes - Now you know why."

"Rossal 10:01 Wed Jan 3 Re: Moyes being offered a new contract. FFS ""Our position is false and not a reflection of our season or our performances for me"" 100% this - as soon as results start mirroring performance, we'll start to slide down the table. Take out Kudus and Pacqueta - we're actually unwatchable. Brighton were missing six players last night - and still stuck to their patterns of play, dominated possession and created loads."

Re: Moyes being offered a new contract. FFS
"marty feldman 9:49 Wed Jan 3 Can't speak for Will - but there's no agenda other than I don't enjoy watching our style of football. We defended well against Arsenal - on another day, they score one of their early chances and iron us by 3 or 4. Lets make no mistake, we were lucky against Spurs. Man Utd - it's about as bad a first eleven as you would have seen them put out over the last 30 years and on paper, we had a better team than them and deservedly won. You can't even call us fickle - it's not as if now we're 6th in the league and have a trophy in the cabinet - everyone has changed their stance - Most of us who want change, have wanted change for nearly two years - we finished 14th last year - 6 points above the drop zone - so the whole, Moyes or relegation doesn't really ring true does it"
Re: Moyes being offered a new contract. FFS
"I agree last night is prime example of why talks should be put on hold till the summer at least Last night De Zerbi outcoached Moyes, his side play much better football......dominate the ball and have a clear style and strategy. Couple that with the fact he bloods his youth into the first team and looks to take the game to the opposition, give me that over what we are served up anyday. Yes we are 6th, but god knows how......out of the 10 wins how many of them do you look at as really good performances? Brighton, Wolves and Arsenal? maybe Luton away could be thrown in all though we got lucky to hold on there in the end Our position is false and not a reflection of our season or our performances for me I really think Moyes will struggle in the next month without Aguerd and Kudus. His bench is weak and due to his lack of squad management and rotation he can't really call upon the likes of Fornals, Cornet and Mubama and expect much in terms of output If Howe and Potter are still available end of season give me them over another season of Moyesball 100%. I'd even look at the likes of Kieron McKenna as a young progressive coach with a point to prove"

Willtell we also had a reserve side out last night . Pacqueta kudus zouma coufal and aguerd all would have played last night if available. I'm as Moyes out as anyone but I'm getting a bit uncomfortable with some of the agenda . When we win it's all down to the players. Lose and it's all on moyes . It's so two faced it's a joke . The sooner the fans turn their fire on the dwarf chancer the better .the real culprit with all that's wrong at the club .

"Willtell 9:22 Wed Jan 3 Re: Moyes being offered a new contract. FFS Nail hit firmly on head. Most frustrating thing for me atm is the mainstream media - Your Shearers, Jim Whites etc - Who never watch a full West Ham game unless we're on the box - Claiming the supporters not backing Moyes are deluded. 'He won you your first trophy for x amount of years' - Did he? Did he win it? Or did we win it because we had the best group of players in the tournament and nicked the final in spite of him, not because of him? It needs to be made very clear - From my perspective anyway - that I didn't grow up supporting West Ham because we were successful. While 'the west ham way' is dismissed as myth - We (on the whole) - were never dominated at home by lesser teams - we tended to at least try and win the game - through time we've had some amazing flair players who were worth turning up to watch. I don't want Moyes out because I feel another manager will take us into the champions league spots - I want Moyes out because of the brand of football we have to watch week in week out. Obviously it's personal preference - Most probably want progress in terms of success - I just want to see progress in the style of football we play. I don't necessarily subscribe to the 'be careful what you wish for' , Richard Keys style sentiment - Why can't a new manager, with a more interesting style to watch maintain what we've done up to now? Why is it Moyes - or get relegated ?"
Re: Moyes being offered a new contract. FFS
"Last night's game was a classic example of why Moyes needs to go rather than get a new contract. We got a point by hanging on defensively but should have had all 3 against Brighton reserves. It's all because the manager's mindset has been formed from years of being the underdog. Of working with small 14 man squads at a time when WH needs a big thinking manager able to work with 25 man squads not fearful of losing to Brighton reserves. The only substitution made was to bring on Mubama, a 19 years old striker. That's good yet he also took off the main attacking threat Benrahma in spite of the fact that he played his best game for us all season. Why did Moyes do that? Fornals was poor all evening as was Soucek yet they do the work of shutting down better. So he moved Bowen to RW, Fornals to LW and Mubama on as striker yet his only creative midfield supply line was removed. Moyes is fucking toxic to WHU. He's toxic to players like Benrahma, Fornals, Cornet, (another £17m + wages wasted). Johnson (who will be off soon too but showed that he has talent that should have been nurtured and encouraged instead of being sent to fucking Coventry!). What chance has Mubama.got when the attacking threat is removed and he gets to chase the ball. It's also noticeable that we've stopped shipping goals since Aguerd has dropped out of the team. Funny that! Another Moyes signing that looks good but can't defend properly. Moyes without Steidten having propped up the team with 4 top quality players would be in relegation trouble. That's a fact. Moyes the coach is absolutely wrong for WHU."
