Mubama

Post Come On You Irons »

"Let's face it. He was awful when he came on last night. Supporters clamber for youngsters to be given a chance, but they must seize their opportunities and prove their worth when given game time. Mubama fluffed his lines last night. He's clearly not good enough. Looks like a League 1 level player to me."

Some fans make me sick. How can a kid be written off under Moyes in attack ffs. Lad needs to go on loan for a season and then be judged. Not when he’s in a team when all the creative players are off the pitch. Is it literally Moyes Minges looking for excuse for him to not play youths.

"It's a valid point. With a huge catchment area like ours (East London, South East London, Essex, Kent) we should be getting better returns from the academy. It seems to have mastered the art of churning out Championship (Cullen, Coventry, Diangara) and League 1 (Ben Johnson, Mubama) standard players in recent seasons. Johnson may still be in the squad but he is not Premier League standard either, and I read that he wants 60k per week to sign a new contract. The club should tell him where to go with that demand."

The Academy looks a busted flush not fit for purpose at the moment. Rice taken from Chelsea aside and it’s a horrendous return in the last 16-17 years. Luckily Diangana and Rice’s sales have just about meant it’s covered its costs. Is it the coaching? Is it the environment? Poor loan management? Lack of trust? Or are the recent groups just not good enough? You look at Liverpool bring on some young lad at RB and he looked twice as good as Johnson. We need to be raiding other clubs until our Academy starts churning out decent footballers who can make it to the first team.

Stunk the place out today. League 1 standard player (and that's being generous). I never want to see this chump wear our colours again.

"Even in the preseason games that had some raving about him, i didn't think he was that good, well not PL standard. Expect he will go on to have a career in the lower leagues, but willing to bet he won't make it in the PL, lower table championship side at best. Wish him all the best though."

"Mubama is getting a sniff thanks to Antonio’s injury and Moyes having zero faith in Ings. As we know youngsters don’t get much of a chance under this manager, more reason to grab any game time with both hands and try to make a real impression. Didn’t happen today."

"Needs to work tirelessly on improving his technique ( control and passing ) , build up strength protecting the ball, day in day out. Currently looks like a lower division career ahead. So much work needed for him to make the grade at the top level. It’s an opinion based on what we’ve seen. Yes he plays in a counter attack team that does not dominate the ball but his control and first touch is dreadful as is his passing for the most part. I hope to ge eating humble pie when he plays for England and gets the golden boot but currently National League looks a stretch"

"Sometimes it is easy to see how our good spell started when none of our fans were allowed to watch live during lockdown. A lot of you would fuck an academy kid off after watching him for 70 minutes. Okay, he wasn't great but apart from Bowen and Paq, who was?"

Wow. Throwing a kid under a bus some of you. Better strikers than Mubama can’t do Moyesball. He needs to go on loan to a proper football team that he’s grown to his level of play like the u18 etc not Moyesball.

"Gary Lineker the pundit is a dick, as a centre forward he was humble, lacked natural ability and confidence. What he did have was the knack of computing positional sense, a deflection here, a goalkeeping spill there … always there ..right time, right place Mubama is playing in a different era but on todays performance you wonder what level he will end up playing"

"He’s been disappointing whenever he’s played this season. I don’t know what we do with him in training but he’s gone backwards. Yes, he needs to go out on loan now and get some games. But should we be relying on lower division teams to coach him on the basics?"

"You guys can argue your head's off wether Mubama is good enough or not. Clearly he isn't PL standard yet. To get better he need gametime and a style of play to suit him. He won't get that with Moyes. Neither did Ings, Scamacca, Haller and others. The kid need to leave West Ham as it stand to develop."

I think only daveyg rates him. He has nothing about him that indicates he will be any more than a championship player. I’d rather see Marshall.
