Shocking what is and has been going on. Truly tragic for all the kids that have been getting abused. Hard to believe that - that is being allowed to happen to the kids. I really am at a loss for words. The poor children! The fact that they are apparently only targeting non Muslim kids is a major problem or at least it should be. Question is what should and MUST be done about it ? This has to be one of the most alarming developments in Blighty over the last 50 years. I really am appalled by what I am reading. Two days after the report and i see the BBC have decided to air drama about the girl who made false claims and was jailed for 8 years. The majority of these poor kids were failed from birth by parents the care system schools the police and the CPS The most vulnerable in society are continually failed by those who should be protecting them and fall easy prey to evil predators who take advantage. L Children's homes historically are another prime example where not only grooming but abuse both physical and sexual was rife. Another sad fact about such crimes is that is not only outsiders who perpetrate them but often someone from within the family group. I was at junior and high school with a kid who would never mix with the others but just stand alone in the playground every break and lunchtime and if you tried to converse with him or the teachers and tried to involve him in group activities he would still hardly utter a word before going back into his own solitary world At times particularly if there was any kind of physical rough and tumble going on he would appear jumpy and on edge and would sometimes flinch when kids came near. Conversely he also had a sister a couple of years younger who was outgoing and had many friends. This behaviour never questioned by the teachers to my knowledge and he was just regarded as a loner or oddball and once we left school I just forgot about him until I picked up a local newspaper one day and read about a local scoutmaster who had been jailed for systematically abusing young boys in his care over a number of years.he had also threatened them not to speak to anyone I recognised the surname and address as being my schoolmates dad and then everything fell into place. I don't know for certain what may or may not have happened between him and his dad but his behaviour during our school years makes me fear the worst. I would like to think that in this day and age a teacher would pick up on some of these signs and delve a little deeper.
