Flight jackets
"Anyone have one of these, apparently original MA 1s are worth a fortune, l got my first from the Manns store !"
Re: Flight jackets
"Had a classic green one with orange lining back in the 80's/90's but that's long gone. Have a very old black one/orange lining hanging up somewhere but all labels have faded and it's not in the best shape. Latest one is 2018 Brandit Men's MA1 Jacket Dark Navy from Amazon, around £50. Does the job. Still think they are good jackets."

Re: Flight jackets
The Ministry of Sound had there own MA1s produced which were originally for security staff but then reproduced and sold as limited editions. They would be worth a nice few quid nowadays I should imagine.

Re: Flight jackets
Dunno who made my Bomber... all I know is that it was already second hand and ex military when I got it and that was mid 80's... fully reversable (bright orange)... same place in Southend (American Graffiti??) that I got my fishtail that used to deal in second hand clobber... wished I'd kept it... then again trying to squeeze in a large would be nigh on impossible now!!

"Still have an Alpha MA1 in sage, probably late 80's/early 90's, which replaced an early 80's version. Will have to check the pockets as per eswing's post."

Re: Flight jackets
eswing hammer The black one was an Alpha industries MA1 if I remember rightly. The blue one is definitely not an original and has a quilted lining picked up at a car boot sale of all places but as new.

Re: Flight jackets
I've got a blue one hanging in the wardrobe not an original and a rip on the sleeve but keep it for the odd job outside. I also had a black one with the orange lining that I paid quite a lot of money for back in the day.

Re: Flight jackets
Yeah had one.... few years later I covered it in scooter patches (runs etc) after I got rid of the Lammy I unpicked the patches and it looked shit... think I wore it to do a spot of car valeting back in the early 90's... don't know what happened to it... same as my Crombie... and my original Korean war Fishtail...
