Re: Whats your favourite cardigan?
I remember getting one of those horrible burgundy waffle knit ones for Christmas. I wanted a Lacoste.
Re: Whats your favourite cardigan?
Don’t forget good old Val Doonigan was a trend setter for cardigans back in the day.

Re: Whats your favourite cardigan?
The Exile I had two Starskys as a kid The first one was knitted by my mum and later on she purchased one for me at a local boutique (I use the word loosely ) called Trendy Togs. I thought I looked the nuts on my chopper bike wearing that and my newly purchased Adidas trainers The chopper and the Starsky would be worth a few quid now.

"The bird singer, Nina I think. You can keep most of their fucking music though. To be fair she's probably carrying a lot of bomb damage these days, think she was knocking on even when they were popular."

"I am partial to a cashmere cardigan. Ralph Lauren, Hugo Boss and Gant are my brands of choice in this range. Has to be cashmere only though. None of the merino wool rubbish."

Cardigans are for old people. It saves them from getting lost while putting on a jumper.

Re: Whats your favourite cardigan?
"zico... ahhh Captain `Black Bottle' Nolan..... 'Lord Raglan's orders are,' Captain Nolan said, already mad with anger, 'that the cavalry should attack immediately.' 'Attack, sir! Attack what? What guns, sir? Where and what to do?' 'There, my Lord!' Nolan flung out his arm in a gesture more of rage than of indication. 'There is your enemy! There are your guns!' Captain Nolan was another Helmet... I like the quote from Lord Cardigan when he returned from the slaughter... ""Has anyone seen my regiment"" Too be fair the stragglers that did return wanted another go at the guns!! Incredible piece of history.."

"Just about to say got one after watching Starsky and Hutch, big mistake was to allow it to get soaked in a rainstorm, bloody thing stretched down to my knees, but the dog I had then loved it to curl up on."

"Just a bit of light trivia re Charge of the Light Brigade. The military jacket worn in the film by David Hemmings is exactly the same jacket worn by Adam Ant in his white stripe across the nose years,."

Re: Whats your favourite cardigan?
"Blimey Cough... never knew that... The cardigan was named after James Brudenell, 7th Earl of Cardigan, a British Army major general who led the Charge of the Light Brigade at the Battle of Balaclava during the Crimean War. It is modelled after the knitted wool waistcoat that British officers supposedly wore during the war. The legend of the event and the fame that Lord Cardigan achieved after the war led to the rise of the garment's popularity – supposedly, Brudenell invented the cardigan after noticing that the tails of his coat had accidentally been burnt off in a fireplace. Cardigan was infamous for the BLACK BOTTLE incident among having cherry coloured britches brought in for teh whole of his Hussar regiment... sounded a bit of a HELMET"

Re: Whats your favourite cardigan?
"Couldn't afford top fashion on an apprentice wage so I wore army boots instead of Doc Martens, no sta-prest but I bought cheapo version, which needed ironing after one wear, did have genuine Brutus shirts though, and yes I looked a proper helmet."
