"VAR, Real Madrid and now Police investigation"
"I hope Real Madrid get some comeupense if the Police do investigate, stinks of a ""big"" club using its influence to get officials to favor them........... In Spain, all VAR audios where the referee were sent to the screen and onfield decision is overturned are made public, HOWEVER the audio that was leaked was an incident where the VAR official talked about a possible red card for Vinicius Jr. but then did NOT notify the on-field referee and send him to the monitor. This was during a highly contentious game where Real Madrid beat the bottom side Almeria 3-2 and VAR intervened three times, each in Madrid's favour!!!! Almeria was up 2-0 after 53 min, then VAR first awarded Real a penalty for a missed handball, which was contentious because Almeria believed their other players were fouled first; second VAR intervention was to rule out an Almeria goal for a foul in the build-up; then a third time when referee ruled out a goal by Vinicius Jr. for handball, but VAR overturned it as they believe it hit him in the shoulder.......... https://www.reuters.com/sports/soccer/spanish-fa-files-complaint-over-real-madrid-var-audio-leak-2024-01-23/"
