Daily Quiz anyone?
"If you are stuck at home and bored like me. How about exercising the old grey cells? I have for a number of years run quiz nights and couple of times a year. I was due to do one tomorrow which is now cancelled So I have a bank of questions sitting in my computer's hard drive. They are quite eclectic in their nature. I am thinking I could put up a set of questions for which you write down your answers. After 30mins or so I will put up the answers. DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS. before I post the right answers. You mark your own answers and post your score. I will then record the scores and at the end of the ""lockdown"" we will see who is WHO's brainbox supreme. Obiviously no looking up the answers (you only cheat yourselves) Word of warning these won't be easy questions as they have been devised for teams of six. Forming teams on here might be too problematic. So I'll try to pick out the easier questions. Any interest?"

"7 for me. Including Q8. The correct answer to which is actually Shakespears Sister. There is no third ""e"" in their name. No apostrophe either. Don't ask me why. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stay_(Shakespears_Sister_song)#/media/File%3AShakespears_Sister_Stay.jpg They were, of course, named after a 1985 single by The Smiths. Which was spelled correctly. https://www.discogs.com/release/9548514-Shakespeares-Sister/images"

"Not particularly a fan of the saucy bard, but due to some of these being ""not really about Shakespeare"" (cheers east!) I may just score a 7. TBC. PS: disappointed for the all the hair-metal fools on here there's no question about Joey TEMPEST!"

"easthammer 9:08 Wed Apr 22 Yeah a lot of my ancestors in the 19th century had Middlesex ""addresses"" - Bethnal Green, St George in the East, Poplar etc. I was just debating out loud whether my basic guess of London would count (after deciding to err on the side of it not)"

"Didn't play (and don't drink alcohol any longer) BUT I would have got Fullers (used to live in Chiswick) and indeed quaffed London Pride. I would have said Middlesex, personally. And isn't the Greene (sp.) King question bit of a trick one? Greene King is / was a Suffolk (I think) company. Even if the ale mentioned originates in Oxon. So there's no such thing as FIRST brewed Green King Old Speckled Hen. It was Morlands Old Speckled Hen when first brewed. Still I split hairs and am possibly still befuddled by the flagons of Greene King Abbott ale I used to sup in the fenlands... surprised I'm still alive. Cheers, east!"

Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
"ironsofcanada Fuller's Brewery is in Chiswick which is in the London Borough of Hounslow part of Greater London. It was at one time in the county of Middlesex ( which now only exists as a historic county) being totally subsumed by Great London. That is why I put the options of Chiswick, Middlesex or Greater London. I guess when Fullers first started brewing London Pride it was Middlesex ."

Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
"Well, judging by the responses this looks like I haven't hit upon a topic that pleases. I find it hard to believe that West Ham fans don't like beer! Would lager questions have been better? I only wrote this round last night. And I only had to confirm two on the internet but I am sad like that. Three of the breweries I have been to and I have tried all the beers. Anyway lets see how you did 1.
