Daily Quiz anyone?
"If you are stuck at home and bored like me. How about exercising the old grey cells? I have for a number of years run quiz nights and couple of times a year. I was due to do one tomorrow which is now cancelled So I have a bank of questions sitting in my computer's hard drive. They are quite eclectic in their nature. I am thinking I could put up a set of questions for which you write down your answers. After 30mins or so I will put up the answers. DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS. before I post the right answers. You mark your own answers and post your score. I will then record the scores and at the end of the ""lockdown"" we will see who is WHO's brainbox supreme. Obiviously no looking up the answers (you only cheat yourselves) Word of warning these won't be easy questions as they have been devised for teams of six. Forming teams on here might be too problematic. So I'll try to pick out the easier questions. Any interest?"

Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
"Kips wrote Any chance of a round on the location of statues of famous historical figures that have an element of exploitation in their background!! I think that wouldn't be too difficult. What would present a challenge is a list of statues of historical figures that haven't offended some group or another whether they be the rich, the poor, an ethnic minority, a particular political group, religion or even artistic opinion."

"Hope it's ok to post this here. After being asked to write a few quizzes for Zoom in the last couple of months I've somehow ended up with a brand, a website and a small selection of all singing all dancing PowerPoint and Keynote quizzes for sale. My actual company is closed so this was an opportunity to keep myself busy and start something new. I'd be much obliged if you quizzy types would take a look. www.rocketquizzes.co.uk Please do share if you like the look of it and want to help out a fellow West Ham boff-job (as was the insult of choice in the 80s). Whomail me if you'd like a discount code."

Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
Tomsdad I thought you were joking so no need to apologise. My reply was intended to be ironic (obviously that failed) Today HBO withdrew Gone With the Wind from their streaming service because it now is considered a racist film. The implication is that anyone wanting to watch it must be a racist. I was then listing other things I have watched or done that could in today's world seems suggests I have unhealthy interests such as Nazi sympathies. I actually read believe that To Kill a Mockingbird is a strong condemnation of racism. Although there have been attempts to get it banned which in the current climate will no doubt gather pace. Hope that explains my feeble attempt at ironic humour.

"FWIW, I've only actually READ 1 and 7. Don't think Lolita was ever on school curriculum. Though it IS now, for college age. Saw the others I knew as films/movies. My generation (born 60s) are so SHALLOW."

"I'm being harsh, I don't mind The Police either, east. Though rhyming ""shake and cough"" with ""Nabokov"" - arrest that man! * * Even if I wouldn't have remembered author without it, haha."

Geoff P Never realised about the lyrics of Don't Stand So Close To Me Excellent trivia. Didn't mind the Police (does that make me an authoritarian) (see post to tomsdad) but don't like Sting's later work.
