Daily Quiz anyone?

Post easthammer »

"If you are stuck at home and bored like me. How about exercising the old grey cells? I have for a number of years run quiz nights and couple of times a year. I was due to do one tomorrow which is now cancelled So I have a bank of questions sitting in my computer's hard drive. They are quite eclectic in their nature. I am thinking I could put up a set of questions for which you write down your answers. After 30mins or so I will put up the answers. DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS. before I post the right answers. You mark your own answers and post your score. I will then record the scores and at the end of the ""lockdown"" we will see who is WHO's brainbox supreme. Obiviously no looking up the answers (you only cheat yourselves) Word of warning these won't be easy questions as they have been devised for teams of six. Forming teams on here might be too problematic. So I'll try to pick out the easier questions. Any interest?"

"kips, I don't want to get too pedantic about it, Sitting Bull was clearly the leader of the 2 Sioux tribes, Cheyenne and Arapaho nations that fought at Little Big Horn but he didn't take part in the battle: Over the course of the first half of 1876, Sitting Bull's camp continually expanded as natives joined him for safety in numbers. His leadership had attracted warriors and families, creating an extensive village estimated at more than 10,000 people. Lt. Col. Custer came across this large camp on June 25, 1876. Sitting Bull did not take a direct military role in the ensuing battle; instead he acted as a spiritual leader. A week prior to the attack, he had performed the Sun Dance, in which he fasted and sacrificed over 100 pieces of flesh from his arms.[6] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sitting_Bull Having said that, he was clearly the leader so Sitting Bull was my answer but I did consider choosing Crazy Horse I guess my time in Minnesota where a lot of the Sioux nation have roots has given me a very little insight to the history of these very proud peoples"

"Far Cough - Crazy Horse fought at the little Big Horn with Sitting Bull although Sitting Bull is referenced as leading the Sioux ,Cheyanne and Arapaho tribes against the US Army. Crazy Horse and Sitting bull were both Lakota Sioux leaders. Anyway - 9/10 for me today - good subject for me"

"5 for me but the first one for me was a choice between Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse, Sitting Bull was the overall chief of the Sioux but I think it was Crazy Horse who was actually involved in the battle?"
