Daily Quiz anyone?

Post easthammer »

"If you are stuck at home and bored like me. How about exercising the old grey cells? I have for a number of years run quiz nights and couple of times a year. I was due to do one tomorrow which is now cancelled So I have a bank of questions sitting in my computer's hard drive. They are quite eclectic in their nature. I am thinking I could put up a set of questions for which you write down your answers. After 30mins or so I will put up the answers. DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS. before I post the right answers. You mark your own answers and post your score. I will then record the scores and at the end of the ""lockdown"" we will see who is WHO's brainbox supreme. Obiviously no looking up the answers (you only cheat yourselves) Word of warning these won't be easy questions as they have been devised for teams of six. Forming teams on here might be too problematic. So I'll try to pick out the easier questions. Any interest?"

"Yes thanks Syd, great day. Shot an 18 over at Ifield so played to my handicap. Four pars in a row isn't like me at all but ruined all that hard work with an 8 on the last! 20 over at Goodwood with a dodgy 8 on the 10th I will take. Ifield is a fantastic course, with a wonderful friendly nature whereas all at Goodwood seem to be miserable buggers, if it hadn't been a freebie I wouldn't have bothered!"

"Easthammer, you were hobnobbing with the stars then! Big Western Movie themes as well as Big War Movie themes were de rigueur albums in our house back in the day. I remembered that The Green Leaves of Summer was one of the tracks (which is quite good as it was 50+ years ago) but put it down as Shane which as everyone knows was in fact ""The Call of the Faraway Hills""."

"Syd a bit of useless information for you. My dad was in the army during WWII in the Rifle Brigade and Geoff Love was the company's bugler. My dad and my godfather (who was also in the same army regiment) remained mates with Geoff Love after to war. My godfather was a Mason and had connections the Order of Water Rats. My old man wasn't ""on the square"" but loved a good night out particularly if it were a boxing night dinner. Somewhere in my loft I have photos of them together at one of their dinner nights. Geoff Love's music was often played in my house as a kid to which I paid little or no attention. Needless to say I didn't get the Alamo either:)"
