Daily Quiz anyone?

Post easthammer »

"If you are stuck at home and bored like me. How about exercising the old grey cells? I have for a number of years run quiz nights and couple of times a year. I was due to do one tomorrow which is now cancelled So I have a bank of questions sitting in my computer's hard drive. They are quite eclectic in their nature. I am thinking I could put up a set of questions for which you write down your answers. After 30mins or so I will put up the answers. DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS. before I post the right answers. You mark your own answers and post your score. I will then record the scores and at the end of the ""lockdown"" we will see who is WHO's brainbox supreme. Obiviously no looking up the answers (you only cheat yourselves) Word of warning these won't be easy questions as they have been devised for teams of six. Forming teams on here might be too problematic. So I'll try to pick out the easier questions. Any interest?"

Bit of luck he is stuck on a finish of 2 / double 1. Because it's almost impossible to get out of!

Rios didn't they catch some killer because he appeared on Bullseye? Pretty sure they had a TV drama on it last year. The photo fit was identical to one of the contestants and they caught him.

Zico I sometimes watch old Bullseye episodes as well as Blanketu Blank with Wogan or Dawson. Was watching an interview with Bowen the other night talking about the two thick irish blokes he had on Bullseye - fucking hilarious.

I catch the odd old episode of Bullseye. The really old ones are an eye opener as it looks really really basic. Very little of Tony Green and correct me if I'm wrong but in those early days for the winners it was both prizes and cash you stumped up to go for the gamble whereas later on it was only the prizes I think. One episode no one took it on. Last couple with only 20 quid between them said it's been a lovely day Jim but we will take the cash!

"Well how weird, just arrived back to a house that is a mere 16c and yet after a day on the road it feels like the Bahamas!! I’ve given you the opening line of a famous book and the ten authors in variable order at the bottom. For a maximum two points on each question name the book and match the author to the line. 1. Frank Baum - Dorothy lived in the midst of the great Kansas prairies, with Uncle Harry, who was a farmer, and aunt Em, who was the farmer’s wife. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz 2. Charles Dickens - It was the best of times; it was the worst of times. A Tale of Two Cities 3. Margaret Mitchell - Scarlet O’Hara was not beautiful, but men seldom realized it when caught by her charm as the Tarleton twins were. Gone with the Wind 4. William Golding - The boy with fair hair lowered himself down the last few feet of rock and began to pick his way towards the lagoon. Lord of the Flies 5. Douglas Adams - Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the Western Spiral arm of the galaxy lies a small unregarded yellow sun. The Hitch Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy 6. Robert Louis Stevenson - I will begin the story of my adventures with a certain morning early in the month of June, the year of grace 1751, when I took the key for the last time out of the door of my father’s house. Kidnapped 7. Mario Puzo - Amerigo Bonasera sat in New York Criminal Court Number 3 and waited for justice; vengeance on the men who had so cruelly hurt his daughter. The Godfather 8. George Eliot - Miss Brooke had that kind of beauty which seems to be thrown into relief by poor dress. Middlemarch 9. Jane Austen - It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife. Pride and Prejudice 10. John Wyndham - When a day that you happen to know is Wednesday starts off by sounding like Sunday, there is something seriously wrong somewhere. The Day of the Triffids"
