Daily Quiz anyone?

Post easthammer »

"If you are stuck at home and bored like me. How about exercising the old grey cells? I have for a number of years run quiz nights and couple of times a year. I was due to do one tomorrow which is now cancelled So I have a bank of questions sitting in my computer's hard drive. They are quite eclectic in their nature. I am thinking I could put up a set of questions for which you write down your answers. After 30mins or so I will put up the answers. DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS. before I post the right answers. You mark your own answers and post your score. I will then record the scores and at the end of the ""lockdown"" we will see who is WHO's brainbox supreme. Obiviously no looking up the answers (you only cheat yourselves) Word of warning these won't be easy questions as they have been devised for teams of six. Forming teams on here might be too problematic. So I'll try to pick out the easier questions. Any interest?"

"25 for me today thanks Zico Just one minor issue: The Elgin marbles are not really linked to Elgin the place ( which was once a city but not anymore it appears- lost a point there in the eight cities question) The Elgin Marbles are named after the 7th Earl of Elgin who ""obtained"" them. I didn't know but when I checked his ancestral home was about 150 miles away from the city! Apparently, the title goes to the head of the Clan Bruce ( Good Game Good Game:) As for your trip depending on where you are in Sussex how about a Coach to Victoria ? Only 10mins on bus or tube to Albert Hall from there"

"Thanks Westside, it's getting up from Sussex that's the problem. Think our only option is to drive up on 4th and get a decent hotel with on site parking, but when you haven't got a clue about London it's not easy to work out where."

"21 for me today. Thanks. Regarding your trip to London Zico, are you within driving distance of an Elizabeth Line station? From what I've read, it's not affected by the latest strikes (do please check). Nor is London Underground, if you can drive to a tube station."
