fraser
"Or is it Frasier :-) No date as yet, but It's coming back for a 12th season. Apart from the main character it's not been confirmed who else will reprise their roles, ie the brother, Daphne, etc. The old man has bought the farm now so doubt he'll be back. I'm a fan having seen all of them, but wonder if they just should have left it?"

Re: fraser
"I've steered clear of this because of Lyndhurst who, for me, everything he has ever been in (apart from OFAH) plays an intolerable, pompous and condescending cսnt. I'm assuming his character in this is the same? Loved the old Frasier with a passion. But I'll just remember it for what it was, I think."
Re: fraser
"The reboot started off a bit poor and has now got to acceptable territory after around episode 4-5. Apart from Grammar who is still very good and Lyndhurst who's is tolerable the rest of the cast are fucking abject, absolutely dogshit actors. As for the series itself, it lacks all of the subtlety and clever references that made Frasier so good and had instead opted for boiled down comedy by numbers that requires no thought, presumably a bit more American friendly. It's a shame because Frasier was excellent and the cast were stellar. Should have left it alone but it's not as bad as I was expecting. It's not Blues Brothers 2000 bad."

Re: fraser
"Ball - It's had bad reviews, but agree it's picking up a little. I've never liked Frasier's snobbery, the sort of bloke I wouldn't like in real life, but still like the character, if that makes sense. Lillith looked scary."

Re: fraser
"My hopes were high but expectations low. It's nearer the 'low' end - it's not great at all, but it could be worse and I feel it's improving very slightly, but that's probably me just getting familiar with the characters (and getting over my dislike of Nicholas Lyndhurst). It was good to see Lilith back this morning."

Re: fraser
"So has anyone been watching the reboot? I think it's bloody awful, or am I being harsh? Fraser Crane is still good but don't rate the new lot, including Rodney. All seems very ''wooden'' to me. Should have left it alone."

Re: fraser
I'm with Capitol man on this Niles was brilliant and was by far the best character on the show.

"Niles is by far the best character and best actor in that. It won’t be the same, but if they manage to get a lot of the same writers back it still has a lot of potential."

"Far Cough 2:10 Surely Connery had a bad accent in... well, pretty much ANY film where he portrayed someone who wasn't Scottish?"

Re: fraser
Seemed a bit odd to cast an Australian actor whose career has mainly been putting on an American accent to appear on US tv to play a Mancunian. Not sure WHAT accent he was really aiming for to be fair
Re: fraser
"There should also be a special mention for Daphne's brother Simon, played by Anthony LaPaglia. I have to assume it was on purpose but has to be about the worst 'English' accent since Dick Van Dyke? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JD7PLI7AxQ&ab_channel=rawdmon"

Re: fraser
Manuel. There were more than one 'cabin' episodes. Do you mean the one where Frasiervand Niles take the two birds and Niles's phone wont stop ringing?

Re: fraser
Can remember when they announced as said that there was going to be a spin off from Cheers with Frasier being a radio psychiatrist in Seattle & thought it sounded like a TERRIBLE idea. It worked because they created an entirely new world with great writing & great support characters. Doing that again will be pretty miraculous ps Lilith (Bebe Neurwith) was ALWAYS the hottest woman in either show

"I've never been one for best episodes, can't really remember them anyway, but the one that sticks in my mind was the one when they went to the cabin in the woods one weekend."
