"Yes, Benrahma out wide on the left, Paqueta as a no. 10 and the front two of Bowen and Kudus. He’ll never drop Soucek though."

Glad we’re on the same page fraser because the idea of playing Antonio ahead of even a jetlagged Kudus does my head in.

I think fraser was hinting at Soucek being the one to drop to accommodate Kudus. You only have to watch Moyes being complementary to Soucek in his press briefing to realise that is very unlikely imho....

If Kudus starts I fear it will be instead of Antonio which would be fucking ridiculous as we'd have an £85 million rated midfielder and one we've just paid £40 million odd playing out of position to accommodate a player who rarely touches the ball more than 20 times a game and loses possession half of those times.

"If Kudus starts which Moyes has hinted at, surely it will be Antonio that gets to sit on the bench ready for a late substitution..."

"How odd that the best payout is a draw. This is a big game psychologically for us, and I could see it going either way. Pound for pound we should match up well. Would be really nice to get some momentum going into an easier stretch of the league schedule. I have a good feeling about this one. 1-3 to the hammers."

"onsideman 8:52 Wed Oct 18 Re: ‚ö? Aston Villa v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview No way will Kudus start given he's playing in another continent on Thursday morning our time and won't be back until Friday. Unfortunately the same may also apply to Alvarez --- Not sure if that matters but no doubt Moyes will use it as a reason not to play Kudus. If Atonio was playing in the USA on Thursday, he would still be playing on Sunday. He was in Haiti on Monday/Tuesday and will play."

"Been looking at a couple of their fans websites and tbf to them they're quite a pragmatic bunch. (Apart from the obvious Spam reference). They get our 'low block' game and are worried their high line might just invite us on. Pau seems to be a concern for them. Worried Antonio will bully him. FMOB he's the size of a London bus but falls over in a light breeze, surprised they haven't noticed that. The pundits and betting sites have them as odds on favourites. Just as I like it. A record has to go here so I am going for a 2-2 draw."

Kudus will have to remain on the bench for this one. He’s not dropping any of the front 3 and I don’t see Moyes squeezing in an extra attacker.

"Manuel - You think I'm being negative, fair enough. I think I'm being realistic. I don't think we can't win I just think we're more likely to lose than they are. Considering they've won ten in a row at home and are clear favourites to beat us."

interesting match-up. Moyes will try and replicate the Brighton mastercalss with an agreesive low block and hope to break they reidculoausly high ( on half-way most of the time) line...so dont expect kudus from the start. Im thinking 2-2 hoping 1-3 ;-)

"I know it seems unlikely but I reckon there's a small chance that Moyes might start Kudus in place of Antonio. Quite apart from the merits of Kudus's recent performances, Mikey has been far from his best the last few games and needs to know that he's not an automatic pick."

"Fraser - Disagree, seems you are being overly negative for no real reason, cheer up son. As you say we haven't lost to them in 10 and go there having had a good start to the season, so no I don't see why we are likely to lose."

"Moyes will play his usual negative lineup with the usual suspects and Kudus on the bench. This lot are there to be got at, they are decent on their day but on paper we are the better side. We have to factor in the massive drag factor of Moyes vs Emery though, Dracula is tactically astute, freddy kruegers ball bag faced Moyes can't even spell tactics. If Antonio fucking turns up for a change we can win this comfortably. But Moyes plus his inability to gee players up after a break tells me it's a 1-1 which is a decent result. I'd actually take the loss if someone fucking cripples McGinn permanently."

"Manuel - Not really, they've won their last ten league games at home, but haven't beaten us in ten. One of those records is going to go, you would have to think ours is more likely."
