"Poor today, but at 2-1 it was all us and we looked like getting back to 2-2 rahter than it ending up 4-1. I thought Areola had a shocker, 1st goal he needs to save, 3rd goal a keeper should never get beaten at the near post. Kudos needs to start though instead of Soucek. Thought Coufal played well for the knocks he's getting on here. I think we've kept one clean sheet alls eason in the league which tells you were the problem is"

"Yes Antonio was shockingly bad and looked like a player whose race is run at this level. He was never good technically and at 33/34 the pace starts to go and that and his strength is all he ever had and it was effective out wide where he should go back to and as an impact sub. But as mentioned, we don’t have a proven striker and thus have to look to Steidten to rectify Moyes transfer market incompetence on that. We just could not play fast enough or pass accurately enough to play thru the Villa press so resorted to long diagonals or Paqueta bending it thru the channel which he didn’t. But he ain’t a wide left midfielder. Until Soucek, Coufal and Antonio and perhaps even Zouma are replaced as first 11 starters we will be limited to mid table I suspect"

"I don't think Villa are all that. They deserved a win but 4 -1 no. The game was in the balance until their third. But we were abysmal. Too many unforced errors, and now settling into our usual shit show"

"Alf, reality check for who? anyone watching the games properly this season would know without numerous 10/10 performances by Areola, we'd be in the bottom six"

Took in the first half and that was enough for me….for how we want to play we are not capable up top of making every little bit of the ball we get stick or be turned into an opportunity….it needs a ‘Brighton’ clinical performance week in week out…that’s never going to happen….I don’t watch football to be unfazed by how predictable we are….so I don’t….

"For how shit we were if we had something resembling a striker on the pitch we could have made it a lot closer. That moyes persists in Antonio when today for instance nearly every forward move broke down when he got on the ball including kicking it out of touch when all he had to do was cross it in the middle tells you all you need to know about Moyes. It shouldn't be Kudos or Antonio it should be another stiriker and Kudos, we all knew it in the summer . Moyes has one brand of football , he cant change it . Its the same predictable subs and the same predictable line up which leave us with Anontio up front and watching play after play break down when he gets the ball."

"Well you’d have to say those Opta stats were right to say we were overachieving. A proper reality check. Mid table side is what we look like as we have a lack of quality in the squad for several key positions. The manager is too cautious but we were second best to Villa all over the park. Villa absolutely bossed this game aside from just after our somewhat fortunate goal. Yes the penalty was dubious but we have been listless, leggy etc and a confirmation of half a dozen players not of the requisite quality. And that covers accuracy of passing, control, pace. They are Soucek, Coufal, Antonio, Zouma. In the squad there are Benrahma, Ings and Fornals we also need upgrades on. Best players on a bad day were Alvarez ( yes penalty challenge a bad decision but he was one of the few to properly compete ) and Bowen. No one else worthy of mention. Aguerd got done for their 4th but was “ok”. Areola was poor for their opener, Paqueta and JWP were not able to match them in midfield. Villas passing was quicker, far more accurate. So temper expectations for the league to upper half at best is my advice. How do we upgrade 4 or 5? I’d say Zouma to Saudi is one to get some cash for. In summary, we got what we deserved.. a bit of a thrashing and a reality check"

"What's frustrating about Moyes, apart from the obvious, is his reluctance to change shape. Subs are surely brought on like for like but he sticks with this 4231. Clearly we were overloaded in centre midfield today but he just sticks with it rather than react to what's happening on the pitch."

"Only the Cucks will be out in force for Moyes; quick look on WHTID, yep out in full force. Winnable game at home needs to come quick. Wheels falling off it seems, hopefully not. People can say how good Villa are at Home but we’ve spent a lot of money to not be top ten and below which currently I feel is likely. Moyes was found out last season and no doubt will be again. Hope I’m wrong mind."

"Terrible performance the 1 flattered us ,poor decisions from Moyes with the subs which unbalanced us and made us ragged, should have kept Paqueta on the left and kudus central from where he scored against the Geordies . Alvarez was poor ."

"1 point from games against Newcastle and Villa show where we are under Moyes. A lower mid-table side. Which we wouldn't be under a better manager with the squad we have. Unfortunately, this also means ta-ta to Bowen, Paqueta and Alvarez. Still another nice pay day for the board. Fed up with it all."

"That should be a shock to Moyes’ system. His dull, negative tactics have gone as far as they can, and many of us are sick of them. But he’ll most likely just double down. Unless Moyes can change his ways his days must be numbered."

"I wish someone would put a shovel in the back of your head KD. You've been quiet recently whilst we have done well but here you are after a defeat. You are a stain on society. We played badly, we got well beaten and if Moyes doesn't learn from this then maybe he is as stubborn as people suggest. The Greek and Kudus have to start against Aston Villa and leave Antonio on the bench for an impact sub. I fail to see the point in bringing Ings on when we have Mubama. So yes a shit day, poor performance but no need to panic just yet. Oh and Paqueta was rubbish today, he needs to be more central so hopefully Moyes will recognise that. On to Europe."

The only time Antonio shows any passion and energy is when he is spouting bollocks on that podcast. Absolute waste of a shirt since his performance at Brighton. If Kudus doesn't start against Everton then I would suspect his agent to be looking at a way out. Moyes is so readable and Emery had his number today. Simply not good enough all round

"Well no one has had a good game today, including the manager. Can't imagine a partnership of Mav and Oggy would be any worse. Zouma not dominant and Aguerd just looks a bag of nerves. Soucek can't start again, although we know he will, if he doesn't score he gives very little. Need a striker in January desperately, but one with strength and pace. Got to be careful we don't start sliding down the table."
