Two Yes pretty sure he and Soucek were ahead of Alvarez. Now JWP is alongside Alvarez and neither seem to get forward.

Has JWP been playing deeper recently? He seems to be out of the game now whereas in earlier games he was pulling the strings.

"One of my rare outings to LS today. As a poster who has defended Moyes on here, what I saw today was a lack of ingenuity and tactical intelligence. Sure, he’s been let down by under par performances across the pitch and - to be fair - we saw masterclass defending from Everton who kept us at arm’s length the whole game, but Moyes was out-manoeuvred by his opposite number today. Let’s be honest, with yet another season squandered due to shameful lack of a central striker - look what Everton had with DCL - we just need to secure mid table and pin our hopes on long cup runs to keep our season interesting. It was a shitshow today."

I don't know what some of you lot are reading but I have read the last 6 or 7 pages of this thread and there's virtually nobody on here that's happy with Moyes. Even twoleftfeet isn't a clear-cut Moyes in fan. But it's weird that it's so different on some of the other forums. How does that happen? I don't go on them myself but I'll take your word for it.

"We are easy to defend against simple as that, especially when we have the ball. Usually two wide players who are on the opposite side to their better foot so always want to come inside and Everton packed the middle so the shot was never on thus forcing Bowen especially wide to try a cross with his weaker foot. On top of that, especially since Cress's legs went who have a poor cross completion ratio, it's not a surprise that tall strikers such as Haller and Scamacca suffered. Teams just know what we are going to do and Moyes just swaps like for like."

You can’t necessarily blame the player selection but you can criticise the tactics / shape. There is a difference. We really struggle to break down teams who sit back. This is why we will actually create more against Arsenal on Wednesday.

Agreed with Vexed here. We’ve got a team of internationals who have somehow started looking more and more like a pub team (with hangovers). It would be a major coincidence for all of the players to become shit at pretty much the same time. I’m amazed that he still has people defending him after all the shit he serves up week in week out.

"I find it baffling that there are still people here that want to watch the football Moyes serves up. Win, lose or draw it's fucking gutless and miserable. He's spent an absolute fucking fortune and we're still fucking shit, the bloke needs to be fucked off toot sweet before he completely wastes the money the club has spent on our best squad for probably thirty years. I fucking detest the cսnt and I detest the fucking idiots defending this abject shit we're having inflicted on us. Losers, like Moyes."

"Embarrassing when Everton under Dyche out play us at home, don’t think anyone had an even half decent game. If they perform like that on Wednesday then it could be a thrashing. Thank goodness for Luton, Sheffield and Burnley otherwise it could be even closer than last season regarding relegation, and buy a bloody new forward, Antonio and zings are not good enough."

"Toothless performance. Whatever system we were trying to play today did not work at all. We played right into their hands, stupid little chipped forward balls that their 6ft 5 central defenders dealt with easily, or we just ran into them with ball and bounced off them. Moyes changed it today, not sure what the plan was but it meant Antonio was even less effective than of late as he had no chance against their backline. They were a brick wall. Not once did any of our forwards get behind them, we don't have anyone in the squad who could either. How many years have our striker issues been going on now? They are a big side who were well drilled and tidy on the ball, and better than us in defence, midfield and attack. Calvert Lewin was the difference in the end and highlighted the difference a proper pacy striker who can finish makes, and how easy it is to get behind our slow and disorganised defence. All this just means Moyes will revert to type next game."

Difficult to explain what happened there. Can't argue with the team selection. Can't crucify any particular players. There wasn't a lack of effort. For some reason they were collectively dysfunctional on the day and the inevitable happened against a shit team

They've accepted it and expect the younger supporters to do likewise .

I asked the same question yesterday. Someone should research how many goals get scored after a Moyes half time team talk. Obviously he's very inspiring...

"What’s the point of spending £400m on players and then not wanting them to have the ball and play their natural game? The lack of ideas when we have the ball is just embarrassing. That’s down to Moyes and how he sets the team up - although I’m not sure we spend much time on that part of the game in training. The individual errors that Aguerd makes are his own doing, but if you spend so much time without the ball there’s a greater chance of making mistakes. We’re a fucking awful ‘football’ team that’s for sure."

On the train after watching that massive pile of steaming horseshit. Interesting how the atmosphere in the ground got worse and worse as the game went on. Nothing there to be positive about really. We just stunk the place out. The only suggestion I would make is that Moyes and all those players should be forced to go and watch the next couple of U21 matches to see how a proper team plays.
