Brentford are a tidy outfit. I don't have a lot of confidence in this one. Benny's a total liability on the left. We're relying on Soucek to hold the midfield. We'll need at least a pair of set piece goals.

Team is as to be expected. Although I did expect Fornals in place of Benrahma for his tracking back and work rate due to the loss of Alvarez and Paqueta

"I'd be looking at using Kehrer in midfield with Alvarez out. Think he is a better passer and tackler than some of the others and has a bit of pace. What lets him down when playing in defence is his positioning. I think he is worth a go there, certainly better than putting JWP as a holding midfielder and Soucek is better when he is allowed to make late runs into the box. Expect Brentford to dominate and it will be how clinical they are that decides the outcome."

With our two best midfielders out I can see them swarming all over us. The sting in the tail is that we will end up getting stung by the bees today. Let's hope Leavemyarcelona is wearing his lucky bumblebee jumper:-)

"farser I've apologised for misunderstanding your post.. I merely thought you had added your comments to what someone else posted about how well Downes was doing. However, calling me ""retarded as fuck"" was not necessary and shows your lack of intelligence or manners. You might want to apologise for your pathetic use of English..."

"The Downes situation is just another case of Moyes putting himself and his fragile psychology first. Because Downes was brought in via Warbarton ( who chose Warbarton ? Sullivan ? ) or Sullivan listened to Warbarton or Newman did ? Either way, he was not a “Moyes boy”. Downes fate was sealed to an extent. He would have had to been exceptional for the brief chances he got. Against the pipe fitters and pub teams in early Conference games he was but obviously found it tougher in the league games. But he hardly got any minutes and when he did start a couple of games he was played out if position as a number 10 !!! Ditto Benrahma, Cornet who allegedly were it Moyes choices. So imo Moyes biggest failing or crime has been how he puts his ego and his insecurities before the team. Soucek is the epitome of why Moyes will never progress. Of course his lack of know how and inability to learn or take risks are root causes associated or better known as inadequacies. It manifests itself in ignorance and arrogance and aggressive or defensive responses when he’s questioned about anything regarding tactics, team selection etc. Now please feel free to attack me personally and assassinate my character if Soucek puts in a great performance in a first win over Brentford :-). Well u can do that anyway but especially if Soucek controls the midfield, hits 95%+ passing accuracy stats, score a goal or 2, makes the most interceptions and is the top 10 for touches of the ball and is most effective at pressing I feel it will be highly unlikely :-)"
