Admin assistance required please

Post Leonard Hatred »

"A well known regular WHOer messaged me yesterday to ask if WHO had finally ceased to exist cos he's been unable to connect to it, and only got ""oops, we are unable to find that site"" etc. I told him it was working for me. This morning he sent me this: Tried connecting via Firefox & Edge on PC and Safari on IPad and continue to get a message stating the server can’t be found. Can you ask Admin if they have any ideas please? He's been around long enough to know to try wiping his knob on the screen, so I assume he's already done that."

"Wils 1:56 Tue Nov 7 Yes mate seriously impossible to log out, username remains even when box ticked or unticked then logout very strange. I use Google chrome on android phone. Also tried on desktop PC the same can't log out using Google chrome and Microsoft Edge? Username remains even when all the above tried with closing browser and opening up a new browser, doesn't matter which browser used already logged in every time. I have little knowledge of these things, could it be something to do with cache?"

"Wils - Fair play mate, I was happy to see this cսnt die, but good work, it's a lot quicker and I can log out and back in again no problem. Shouldn't this new URL be ''advertised'' more on here, likely many haven't seen it yet?"

"J.Riddle wrote... ""..but can never log off "" I tried it on several browsers and on my iphone. I could log out ok. Are you seeing different fonts to the .net version? If you are having problems. let me know what browser/device you are using and I can have a look at it. It should all be the same apart from the banner at the top and links in the posts are now clickable."

"Wils, I like the new site and seems to connect better?üëç It is quite the novelty that you only have to log in once but can never log off even if you end up with your own thread having bought the farm. My only reservation is how am I going to log out and back in again to have an argument with myself with one of my other seven usernames? WHO will never be the same! I don't suppose you could bring back black fonts to compensate?"

"I think the issue may be a browser thing. I use Brave as my browser but noticed it I used safari it opened up and doesn’t say server issues. I try it out Thursday and see if I’m correct as match days are when it stops, probably because of everyone venting."

"‘Curbing the number of political threads on this Board has been beneficial’ That’s funny, as you kept moaning about US political discussion being on the Ukraine thread, and incorrectly asserting that any new dedicated thread wouldn’t be locked by mods. Anyway. Well done Wils, this is a huge improvement."

"""*ravens I always thought crows and ravens were the same thing until I just Googled. Every day is a school day on WHO"" I always just call them all blackbirds. If you use a small B no one can argue. Re the site on the new url .co.uk Anyone confirm that it's definitely fixed their issues? I only experienced the connectivity problem on my office network but I won't be in until later in the week to check."

"What Coma says.! Here here! We should ban all popular threads, especially the ones that garner the most interest and passion and focus on turning WHO into a sleepy, boring forum where the emphasis is to keep traffic to an absolute minimum. So stop posting topics of national interest and start focusing on the uninteresting boring shit. And only post about football ffs! This is a football forum after all. You wankers need to be told. Ffs!"

"Would be more beneficial getting rid of the posters that drone on and on and are so far up their own arse that they can see daylight beyond their tonsils. If you think you've spotted one, it's your reflection. This is NOT the Oxford fucking Union debating hall."

"Wils, well done in providing an alternative rout on to this Board. I have not really been experiencing connectivity issues per se but as with others it’s been the time lag. Curbing the number of political threads on this Board has been beneficial but now a real issue to address is the endless, repetitive bickering that takes place with the same group of posters following one another from thread to thread. I have no problem with a mod shutting down a thread for a spell in order to halt the bickering."

"It still gives me an offline version from back in June whenever I try using mobile data. Then when I checked on this site over the weekend from my home desktop, I saw a mod had locked the ""Moyes Out"" thread and all the top threads were political/bollocks threads. I'd just leave a note at the top of the site telling everyone we've moved on to other forums and just let it die now."
