Eerie your responses to me are of someone who knows they’ve been one of the numpties over a silly show that was a bit popular…..did one of your ex’s say you reminded them of Phoebe? I’ve heard on here you can play a bit of guitar…

"Why is this (still) the 3rd most important story on the BBC News website? When was the last episode of Friends made and first broadcast? Doesn't qualify as ""News"", 4 days after his death and should by now only be a minor entry under their ""Entertainment"" section, leaving more room to report on what matters...to their audience, not to them."

As always we have the usual numpties giving an unnecessary autopsy to something that has light hearted entertainment value and made a shitload of money for all involved. They then replace it with what they deem to be the cultured winner….you should have sorted all this mincey shit in 6th form….. RIP Mr Perry…..you achieved more than these winner comedy experts on here….

I wouldn’t call a few people on a forum saying a comedy sitcom is shit a sign that it actually is either. It’s completely subjective but in this instance it’s obviously striking a chord with a lot of people. As for Macdonald’s I rarely eat it but if it’s been the most successful fast food chain in the world for over 30 years then it’s obviously doing something right.

I wouldn't say worldwide success is necessarily a sign of quality. Unless you think McDonalds is some of the best food out there?

A lot of humour is juvenile but can still be entertaining. Look at the Young Ones & Bottom back in the day. As many have quite rightly said it’s all subjective and the worldwide success and lasting impact of Friends shows that an awful lot of people from different backgrounds and countries like it. I used to love Alan Partridge back in the day especially the second series in the travel tavern. There will be many that didn’t like it and never got the humour and that’s fine. Doesn’t make anyone right or wrong.

Friends is shit. Perry was the best actor of the 5 of them which ain’t saying much. The humour is juvenile . They showed an episode without canned laughter. It was truly terrible . The series is no match to the brilliance of humour and acting that was Seinfeld.

"I liked it, I can remember sitting round my friends house on a Friday night watching it when our kids were young. The same friend passed away a couple of weeks ago, the best man at my wedding. So I've found his passing quite poignant so soon after. Love Seinfeld and Curb though and also British comedies, can like different things right."

I've always preferred British sitcoms. Rather watch 'Rising Damp' or 'The Rise and fall of Reginald Perrin' than friends.

"Proper sad news, Friends is actually a big part of my life, considering my actual humour is very dark, verging on Vantablack. If I go round my sisters it's usually on, most places I've travelled around the world it's comfort TV and me and the fam share so many of the quotes."

I do agree that miserable insecure pricks who spend their life on here telling anonymous people how they’re right about everything (even when they’re not) probably wouldn’t find it funny.

"Comedy is subjective. Friends was very American humour and almost paint by numbers comedy. But it wasn't out to be award winning script writing. It was just feel good, harmless sitcom. Nothing more, nothing less. RIP to the fella."
