Mubama turns down contract extension?
"Just saw on twitter. Don't know if at all accurate. Unless he's had his heart set on a move regardless for some time and there's nothing we could have done anyway, then this is absolutely maddening. If it's down to not getting game time then i really don't blame him. On the face of it, it's an utter joke how little he's played this season."

Re: Mubama turns down contract extension?
"https://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/fixtures-results/live-west-ham-wycombe-ipswich-18824473 ""Haller fires West Ham in front at Portman Road, Diangana with the assist."" ""Diangana and Haller linkup at Portman Road, the latter with a fine ball across the box and Haller smashes home his second of the game."" Bit difficult that, if they ""never (NEVER) played a single minute of football together""..."
Re: Mubama turns down contract extension?
"Mike Oxsaw 10:38 Tue Oct 31 Seeing as Diangana and Haller never played a single minute of football together then yes, maybe you do need to put that down to failing memory. They did actually feature in a few of the same pre-season games but were never on the pitch at the same time."

It’s clear under Moyes we are even more of a strikers graveyard…..

Re: Mubama turns down contract extension?
I would suspect there is more to this than a simple we offered him a new deal but he turned it down. So I'll hold back for now from the usual cliched ''I don't blame him'' line and using it as another stick to slate Moyes with. Put your dicks away and let's see what happens.
Re: Mubama turns down contract extension?
"""It'll be a shame if none of them from those 2 squads managed to break through to the first team because the manager doesn't care about the YOOFS."" That would be unforgiveable from Moyes, considering the amount of shit we sign for millions not bringing through any of the best youngsters in the country at the time would be absolutely ludicrous."
Re: Mubama turns down contract extension?
"Can't blame him, he'll never get a run in the team under the Moyesaurus. The most frustrating thing is he can't do any worse than what we're currently seeing from Antonio or Ings. If Moyesaurus had Messi available he wouldn't play him because he wouldn't fit his template. Jock cսnt."

Re: Mubama turns down contract extension?
"I was getting the impression that Diagana and Haller were showing signs of an on-field pairing bond - OK it was over a very limited number of matches, but in those games they seemed to know where one another were and/or where the ball needed to go. Had such a partnership been allowed to flourish, Moyes and his dinosaur methods - all he seems to know - would have been fucked. Probably my rose-coloured 20/20 hindsight/failing memory, though."

"Not forgetting the FA Youth Cup win last season, it was also only a couple of years ago our U23's finished 2nd to City. It'll be a shame if none of them from those 2 squads managed to break through to the first team because the manager doesn't care about the YOOFS."

The only thing Moyes gave to Rooney was his reason to leave his hometown club as soon as possible….

I still maintain that if we had kept Diangana and nurtured him on the left he would be no worse than Benrahma is. We were offered silly money for him so it was an easy deal.

Re: Mubama turns down contract extension?
"I had high hopes he would have a breakthrough season this year - not by tearing up the league but just getting some game time to get up to the speed of the league and see whether this lad had it in him to reach a higher level. We won't ever know. Some young stars fade and never make the grade, others lose desire or just don't get enough opportunity. We should have let him go on loan and play. We said no in which case he should be playing and getting minutes. The manager doesn't like young players as they don't have the discipline of older players but what they do have is dynamism and no fear. When confident and positive young players can have a positive impact. Why is he preferring others who are not having an impact over him?"

Re: Mubama turns down contract extension?
The nexts Diangana? Saying that he’s scored in his last 2 games.
Re: Mubama turns down contract extension?
"Moyes is from the Hansen old school thinking “You can’t win anything with kids”. He did give Rooney his debut at 16 though, not sure he’s never mentioned that."
Re: Mubama turns down contract extension?
"None of us know if he’s actually that good. He did well in the U21’s but he’s very raw and unpolished. Saying that, he seems to have the right attitude, works hard and is willing to learn. He’s shown enough to be given more of a chance than he has. Plus he’s more in the mould of Antonio than Ings is and might just fit our system better. He may not be the answer but at least ask the question. I agree that Marshall is the better prospect but even he must wonder if he’ll ever get a chance. Look at Armstrong at Brighton. Only 18 but they trust him."

Re: Mubama turns down contract extension?
"he mismanages senior professionals with international experience. these kids aren't stupid, and will see what goes on with the way he runs things and even the thickest ones will see zero paths to games or progression while he's in charge. I hate this ""They've all been shit"" argument, to excuse his lack of coaching ability or foresight"
Re: Mubama turns down contract extension?
"Often hear ‘no players we let go have gone on to better things’ comments in these discussions. Although on the whole that’s true, I do wonder if in all cases that’s because of the way their talent has been wasted at such a crucial time in their development. No way of proving either way, but I won’t be convinced some of the ones we’ve let go could have had much better careers if in the pivotal part of their learning they were given a better chance. Bette chance means better coaching, more game time in better game situations and with better players around them. Instead they get league cup games with other fringe players, or a few minutes when a game is already won/lost. It won’t change until either our managers are incentivised differently, or we get one that actually cares about the future of the club and the players"
Re: Mubama turns down contract extension?
"Browno Stanislas never played regularly in the prem. Cullen could become something but odds are Burnley are going down this season. The point still stands that I don't think we've let go or lost anyone who would improve us. I'm honestly not sure how effective the academy can be anymore for developing first team players. The gap between that and the premier league is simply too big of a step. I really hope I'm wrong about that, but it's definitely a concern given the way all premier league teams are acquiring talent all over Europe and by extension the world."
