Getting Old...
"Lads, peeing once a night isn't great, twice is an inconvenience, 3 times is a fooking nightmare! 'Enlarged Prostate' they tell me, now on Tamurex tabs, anyone else on these? Do they work? Come on chaps, it's good to talk......"
Re: Getting Old...
Rarely wake up to piss but go quite a few times during the day but i drink quite a lot of tea at work so that could be a factor.

Sorry to hear of your woes ray. Does anyone know what can be done to prevent this as we get older?

Re: Getting Old...
"I'm the same age as you Ray , 61 , and I feel your pain old age is a bitch...prostatitis I believe its called that I have rather than an enlarged prostate , inflammation that seems to come and go for no apparent reason but when its irritating boy is it irritating. It can get me out of bed at least 3 or 4 times at night and then when I'm out somewhere I cant even walk past a toilet without trying to see if I can force a slash out because I'm then thinking that I might not find another one for a while. Half the time I'm sure that it gets in my head that I need to go rather than physically being in discomfort but its that constant irritation thats there all the time that gets to me ...100pc its age related as I never had any of these problems in my younger years. The GP recently prescribed those Tamex tablets or a version of that you're taking , maybe its helped a bit but I cant really vouch for them at this stage ,he said they take up to 3 months to start working properly. Oh yes the other thing is that it doesnt help the morning glory too much either... fortunately the missus is also no longer in her prime either so its not as frustrating as it might be..."

"Nothing to drink whatsoever in the 4 hours before you hit the sack. Sip water to wet your mouth lips, if you need to, but not enough to swallow. I love growing old, me. Beats the alternative."

The worst thing you've going to feel during your prostate exam is two hands on your shoulders

Re: Getting Old...
This has started to effect me over the last six months or so... can vary between three times (v. rarely) or usually just the once. Occasionally I make it through 'til morning without the need. Personally doesn't really bother me as I usually go straight back to sleep... the wife is beginning to moan though!! Not sought any medication as yet... any recommendations?
