"Absolutely laughable to claim Moyes has 'broken' Benhrama. A turd is a turd. You can't polish a turd. Benrahma is a turd at this level. He should bugger off to Saudi Arabia, the Championship or another league of equivalent standard where he belongs."

"Moncurs Putting Iron 12:36 Fri Dec 1 Agree with that. I expect Fab to move on as well for game time and wouldn't be massively surprised if Antonio moves on (not that we'll get much in the way of a fee). Ings wages are a big problem. He wont get half what he's earning here, unless he chased the money in the middle east"

"I watched Soucek closely last night and he actually played very well. Picked up lots of loose bits, always working, always available and some good passing (anyone else spot the 40 yard cross field ball straight to Benrahma?)"

"Moyes hasn't broken Benrhama, he just wasn't/isn't good enough. I also have issues with Paqueta, he doesn't dominate teams the way he should do and if Man City offer £50m I snap their hands off."

Soucek has been freed up now that Rice of the Hammers is playing Roy of the Rovers for someone else.

"Players who should not be here by the end of January: Johnson: Wants too much time on the ball, end product in final third is poor. Fornals: Always liked him but a year on the fringes has broken his enthusiasm, He's mentally already out the door as far as I can see. Benhrama: Confidence shot to shit, broken player, well done Mr Moyes. Ings: Will stand around waiting for service that will never come until we ship him off to the Championship. Cresswell: Age has caught up with him and he cant catch up with play. Players on Borrowed time Kehrer Cornet"
Re: ‚ö? Backa Topola v West Ham - Official Match Thread
"The explanation of Moyes still operating a first team model only and not a squad might be why Cornet, Downes last season get frozen out. Not part of his 14 preferred players? I can see no other logical explanation ? Cornet you can see has superior technique not just the cross but ability to control it and pass. He’s quick in relative terms ( not hard ) and moved more than the entire team in his 10-15 minute cameo. But I suspect that’s the last we see of him. I thought maybe it was because he was not a Moyes pick ( Sullivan gift or Newman had recruited him ) so was being ignored but he got injured and Moyes decided he did not make the core 13 or 14 that Moyes uses.Probably as simple as that ? He will likely be sold in Jan or summer ifMoyes is still around"
Re: ‚ö? Backa Topola v West Ham - Official Match Thread
"absolute dire lazy preformance from a team of unmotivated and past it players, bar a couple of exceptions thats an embarrasing poor performance why the fuck does he play JWP as a no 6- hes wasted there. Zero intensity- the likes of fornals and benny getting ANOTHER chance to show hwo poor they are, over Cornet /other fringe players anyone looking at the stats and not realising how bad we really are needs their bumps felt..."

"Yet another dreadful, boring performance but we ground out a win and it is in our hands to avoid the play off round. Nice bit of quality by Cornet for the cross and nice to see Soucek bang another one in. Benrahma completely stunk the place out. I said all along he is a Championship level player. Will be amazed if he is not shown the exit door next Summer."
Re: ‚ö? Backa Topola v West Ham - Official Match Thread
That would be my experiment too Alf. But it's too imaginative for Moyes I fear
Re: ‚ö? Backa Topola v West Ham - Official Match Thread
"Agree again Fraser. Better to play Soucek as a false 9 and avoid being a player short in midfield. The Moyesball model is like playing “Buckeroo” each game. Every game is another object on the old cart horse until it eventually collapses. Not sustainable for winning football using just 14 players. Around Feb / March will we still be top half of the league, in the Europa and another cup ? Or just in one cup and top half ? I’d wager it’s unlikely but we shall see."
Re: ‚ö? Backa Topola v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
"Yeah agree with that about Soucek, but he isn't a striker and that's the problem because we're losing the midfield if he doesn't contribute there I actually think we would have been better to play him as a striker last night, he could pop up with the goals and not to the midfield's detriment. Mubama wasn't in the game at all I don't see how we could have been any worse."
Re: ‚ö? Backa Topola v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
Soucek reminds me a bit of Nolan in that he seemingly does fuck all for long periods but you could usually rely on him to pop up with an important goal. Can see Tomas getting well over ten goals this season and for a midfielder that's huge asset.

"Yep, a good time Sunday. I read a good point from someone who said that Moyes has his preferred, say 14, and pretty much alienates the rest, but when we have injuries, suspensions, and as you say Africa in Jan then he has to rely on his squad who may not fancy the fight or not match sharp etc. Looking at alst night the squad fillers didn't look motivated at all in terms of trying to get in for Sunday, no doubt because they know they won't anyway even if they played really well. Did the Greek join us just to play on Thursday nights and in the league cup? It's like we now have a side A and a side B. Going to back to Soucek, granted maybe an out of date concept in the modern game, but if you had a striker that played shit but got the winner he always got a pass, 'he did his job' would be the line, I think the same kind of concept applies to Soucek here, maybe even more so since he's not even a striker, of course when he doesn't score is when it becomes an issue. No doubt Moyes will be feeling fully justified in picking him."

"Say what you want about Soucek (and a lot of it is fair), but the timing of his runs, his positioning and finishing are top notch, if you add his prowess in the air he's almost unique among premier league midfielders in what he gives the team. I'm pleased hes back to his old self, seems like an honest lad who loves the club."

"Nice 9pm for you Sunday.. You can suffer like the rest of us, bar the freezing :-) Missed Kudus yesterday, and Bowen obviously. Kudus is fucking off to Africa in a few weeks too."

"fraser - Yes possibly, but that is fairly deep analysis which may or not be true, but I'm not too convinced we would be much better without him tbh, like you say it surely has to go deeper than if Soucek plays or not, so I'll stick with my original point being that all considered Soucek has to get a pass right now as he's winning us games all the time at the mo, and they are not tap in goals either. I know it's not a popular view but against some of the lesser sides, like this Sunday, I'm not against leaving Alvarez out if Moyes insists on pickling Soucek and JWP, should be two from the three for me. No, not looking to Sunday as we know what will happen, will be a close game no doubt. Personally, I won't be sitting up for evening games any longer to watch anymore of this shit. I might be a fool, but I'm not a complete fool :-)"
Re: ‚ö? Backa Topola v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
"Manuel More turgid, uninspiring dogshit As for Soucek, like most I've never been his biggest fan, but if you're going to continue to slag off the player who is winning us games every week right now then you are going to start to look fucking daft, it's not as if anyone else is doing anything is it. Do you not think the two are related.. Moyes is happy to sacrafice creativity in the midfield because Soucek who hardly has an influence on general play and us creating chances and looking like a football team at the moment has the nack of finding the back of the net, with two brilliantly taken goals it's fair to say in the last two. We just can't progress up the pitch, not saying he's solely responsible but he's a big part of it. JWP doesn't help either IMO. I'd rather us try to win the game by trying to play and create chances with better football as we're creating fuck all at the moment, then if it doesn't work throw him on then. We just can't keep winning games in this way surely, we just have to try something different our luck will run out. It's fucking freezing here and I can't say I'm looking forward to sitting there for 2 hours in it and watching more of that Sunday... Should be looking forward to it."
Re: ‚ö? Backa Topola v West Ham - Official Match Thread
That was shit yet again. I can put up with occasional bad games especially if we win but that was just dire. And it happens all the time. Moyes is staying all the time we win. I wonder what we train for as a game plan? Surely Moyes doesn’t train the players to play shit? Even against pub teams we are simply clueless until it’s set piece time and now even JWP has been rumbled and shit. It made me laugh when the commentators waxed lyrical about his set pieces then said nothing as two successive corners hit first man then sailed over the back for a goal kick!

Joyo I’ll wish for anyone - anyone with an iota of innovation. Fucking minnie mouse could do better than this troglodyte. Like I said I’m done watching. I’m starting to think the Moyes apologists must be either schoolchildren of just stop oil activist's.
