"Sir Alf, only Leicester have broken the monopoly of the “Big 5” in the past decade in domestic cups (And the Premiership) Aside from that one cup win by them, Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea & Liverpool have won every domestic cup (FA Cup & League Cup) between them over the past 10 years. I think those clubs have started taking the League Cup a bit more seriously in recent years. Even Arsenal yesterday put out a pretty strong side. Remember when Wenger would always put out a team full of kids for this competition? It’s a really shit draw. I think Liverpool have only lost one game at home in 2 years domestically. The hardest draw we could have got. Hopefully the players got a bit of confidence from last nights win to take into the Brentford game because that’s now the only benefit of going through after that Quarter final draw. Winning a domestic cup has never been harder for clubs outside the “big 5” and you need a bit of luck with the draws along the way.
