"Burnley have lost all of their home games so far this season. So, we have absolutely nothing whatsoever to worry about, it's not like us to end a strikers goal drought or end a teams long winless run now is it. Fortunately we have a sharp minded tactically aware manager that enjoys blending youth with experience. To quote one of Moyes countrymen 'Were doomed, doomed I tell thee'"

"Kudus, Antonio and Bowen out. Only at West Ham..... Anyway, I wonder if Moyes will finally play Mubama? Or he will go with Ings for 87 mins who will touch the ball twice (once for a throw in) and then drag him off and put Soucek up front. Will be riveting."

"Maybe it's the intl break, but for the first time this season I'm not finding myself forward to a PL game. It also niggles that we have laboured to two narrow wins against weak oppo that makes everything look OK again in Moyes's world. This is going to be shit."

Bowens injury not as bad as first feared. Having a scan and is still in contention. But without Bowen and Antonio isn't it just Kudus and Mubama?

John Lyall also played Tommy Taylor as centre forward during the mid 70’s when we were undergoing a striker crisis.

It doesn't get any worse than Lee Chapman in my opinion although John Radford comes a close second.

"Sarge - that’s my go to low point as well. Think it was Newell and Dowie up top together at one point (during Dowie’s year long goal drought). If memory serves, Steve Jones in his second spell may have been the back up"
Re: ‚ö? Burnley v West Ham - Official Match Thread
"Having seen us turn up at Tottenham with Paul Hilton up front, or pairing TC and Mark Ward together and hitting long balls from deep this isn't an all time low. * Far from it. Weve still got plenty of options. * that was Mike Newell in an appalling 3-0 /3-1 loss at Chelsea 96/97......"

Re: ‚ö? Burnley v West Ham - Official Match Thread
"No worries even with all our strikers out. Moyes foresight and planning sans he can utilize his squad as he does so effectively during games. In football down the years, we’ve seen those moments of serendipity where a manager is forced to play someone he would not normally pick and they turn out to do a great job. Think it even happened to Bobby Robson in Italia 90 when he was forced , due to injuries to Woodcock? Was it? And someone else, he had to play Lineker and Beardsley. Same for Pards when forced to play Anton Ferdinand and Elliott Ward in the Championship and we were about 8th or 9th, hardly lost a game and got into the play offs and promoted iirc? Ok wild clutching at straws but could Cornet end up being a lot better than Antonio or even Bowen as a central striker ? Mind you it’s Moyes and he always puts his fragile ego first so Cornet, not being a player he ever wanted, will continue to gather splinters as decrepit, old man Ings gets the nod as he was approved by the Moyesiah"

"Good afternoon all, and back to the PL and it's Burnley who have amassed 4 points all season and lost their last 5 games, so you would expect us to......"
