I did some carpentry work for Declan Donnelly about twenty years ago. We all turned up at 8 one morning we knew he would have left for work so we let ourselves in. at the time we had this really mouthy apprentice so we thought we’d tape him up and throw him in a skip or something like that, so we ambushed him and he managed to get free, the little fucker ran up two flights of stairs and locked himself in the master bedroom en-suite, laughing his arse off as we we’re banging on the door. I looked round and there was a human sized lump in the bed!! My mate and I legged it leaving the apprentice up there. He was singing “I am the champion!” (Or some stupid shit) at the top of his voice for a full 15 minutes before coming down and telling us in a stage whisper “There’s someone in that bed!!” Another ten minutes passed and Decs girlfriend at the time stormed out of the place without a word, so we all thought, that’s that then, we’re getting fired now Dec came back around lunchtime and pulled us up on it and he was pissing himself laughing, didn’t even tell our boss, he split up with his girlfriend very shortly after that. So yeah I thought he was a good sport.....Ant seemed like a bit of a dick though"

They inadvertently come across as a pair of demented psychopaths. Ant was exposed a few years ago as a drink driving alcoholic.
