Agree totally. Completely just himself with no artifice at all. First came upon him when I watched TT:Closer to the edge. The juxtaposition of his day job servicing trucks and rocketing between the hedges was quite something. It is one he few films that understood the power of 3D filming as the on-bike footage of them blasting around the TT Mountain Course is terrifying.

He was a professional motorcycle racer specialising on road circuits but never managed a TT win although he came close a few times.
