Ludo I was never told we were signing Wilshere on a pay as you play. Which is why I was against it.

It will be like Jack Wilshire.... weren't we all told that he was on a pay as you play contract and then it turned out we had been paying him £65k to sit on the bench for two years? Lingard will be offered a 6 month contact that will be converted into a three year contract after two passable performances. He will then turn to shit.

"This is the most nailed on signing of the season. Expect it to be announced towards the end of the window after ""we tried"" with numerous other targets,"

"Talented footballer, but has some psychological problems. Or he is just thick. For Moyes, he is in too precarious a position himself to gamble on re-signing him. Maybe the die hard ""Moyes out"" crowd will be willing Moyes to go through with it as it would be another nail in his coffin and hasten his exit."

"We should definitely indicate to him that there is a chance of signing a deal. We should tell him that if he works hard, and proves his value, then at the end of the transfer window we will offer him a generous package for a year. And then on 1st September we should tell him to fuck off. Give him a taste of his own medicine."

Well both as it turns out because he had a 3 year offer from us last summer but chose to take the 1 year deal (Albeit with more money) with Forest hoping it would lead to bigger clubs trying to sign him this summer. So now he’s scratching around looking for a club and someone to pay him. The fact that not even the Saudi’s are interested is telling.

Opposite of a stupid - financial - decision Swindon. A pretty silly football one.

I suppose if he’s just a squad player replacement for Lanzini and helps the homegrown quota then it’s bearable but you can understand why people are annoyed at him. He should be annoyed at himself. He has wasted another 2 years of his career by chasing a pipe dream of thinking he could go back to Man Utd and play regularly and then made a stupid financial decision in joining Forest.

"We need a squad. We all know this. We are still planning to play on 4 fronts. If Lingard realises he needs to come and train and play hard to be in it, great. If we give him a contract with a minimum of risk and it doesn't work out, it won't be the worst waste of money we achieved that month, probably. Loyalty is really nice to have in football but generally not the reality. And being prideful about being jilted in this day and age is pretty silly."

"Obviously there is a lot of negative biased towards this tit, albeit a rich tit, after he fucked about so much, plus he was shit all last season, but if we did give him 3 months it would hardly be a disaster imo, might be useful off the bench, but what would bother me is if it stopped us signing another player instead."

"""In fact the 5 months he was with us is arguably the anomaly or purple patch in Lingard's career, he has never had another half season where he played to that level on that consistency."" There's good arguments to be made that he went off the boil with us towards the end as well, during his one and only purple patch in his whole career. I find it madness that people are even entertaining the thought of getting him back."

"Norway, you're kidding right? the way he lead Moyes around by the nose like some sort of lovesick puppy only to snub him and fuck off to Forrest while pocketing a massive signing on fee thinking he would be able to run the same scam on another mug this year with the ridiculous 1 year contract scenario. Moyes made himself look like some desperate 15 year girl just hoping to get some attention from JLingz, that's on Moyes not Jesse. Fact is its approaching 3 yrs ago that he played for us and yes we looked immense when he played for us but in the period between then and now he's hardly played football and definitely not to the level that he played in those 5 months he was at WHU. In fact the 5 months he was with us is arguably the anomaly or purple patch in Lingard's career, he has never had another half season where he played to that level on that consistency. All that being said I wouldn't necessarily have an issue with him getting a pay as you play contract with us but you just know that our board and manager will spin this as a cheapskate option of a signing rather than a bonus signing which is the only way it should be entertained. We should make all of the other necessary signings we need and then if there is space for Jesse then why not, he is in no way a strategic signing we should be considering, he's a bonus if that. Maybe next year when Maguire's contract expires at ManU he can come and train with us in the summer seeing as we're happy to take in all manner of waif's and stray's in the off season to keep them fit."

That is because Moyes had not told Lingard he was supposed to only defend.

"On The Ball 7:53 Mon Aug 14 ''He's training with us, as many players do at former Clubs. Not a big deal. No suggestion other than Twitter gossip that we're considering anything'' But if that is true then why the fuck would we be so welcoming and accommodating to a jumped up prick who royally fucked us about?? ''He's training with us, as many players do at former Clubs, it's no big deal'' - Former clubs?? He was with us for 5 minutes, you fucking apologist, and we are not even close to his home town!"

"So what happens if Moyes does sign him to a contract and he comes in and plays lights out? Fluent attacking football, plenty of goals and assists and proves himself to be a solid addition, one of our better attacking options. What you all gonna say then? After his last spell with us it’s not out of the question, he seems to fit Moyes’s system well and we played some good stuff when he was here. I’m open to take a look on a short term prove it deal. Could be a nice addition to a team that could use a playmaker or two."
