"He's played 232 games for Man United, scored a winner in an FA Cup Final, another in a League Cup Final win, played 42 times in Europe and has 32 England caps. He's also played 33 Premier League games in the last two seasons."

"I dislike Lingard and all he stands for but let's be clear here. He's a free agent and isn't costing anything but wages. In the age where £20m gets a Championship player and £30m a better youngster from a top club, he's costing nothing. It's very possible that after a fatherless growing up with a depressive mum, getting pushed out by Man Utd and not being able to step up to being the star at Notts Forrest, Lingard realises he needs a strong fatherly figure like Moyes to be at his best. As long as he's not the Paqueta replacement then what the heck? Most thought signing Craig Dawson was a waste of time until after they saw his performances...."

"If he’s fit and playing well in training, and if the terms of his contract are favourable to us then I’d get him in. Sometimes a club & a player are just a good fit and it works out at one place and not others. Players like lanzini & Downes & Fornals did a lot of the leg work in the European group games - we will need that again."

"Lingard can seem to turn it on when there's some one to impress. Lat time it was the Mancs, to try and get kept on, this time it's us. I want to see that all the time, then we might be getting a player back. I also don't want to see the Jessie Lingard show again, and all the Tiktock bollocks. Maybe he deserves a second chance after that purple patch last time around, but he needs to concentrate on football, otherwise he'll go the way of Dele Alli, or Ravel."

Lingard coming here and being superb was no accident. He’s a quality player who needs motivation. He’s spent a year enriching himself at the expense of Forest who clearly weren’t able to get a tune out of him. But Moyes did and I’d take him in on a pay per play arrangement purely because of that.

Wilshere was a cripple . Lingard isn't . His issue is how much willpower he's got now . It's all down to motivation .
