Re: Essex cricket
Apparently the track at the Ageas looks like crazy paving so won't want too many runs to pick off once we have finished the Hampshire innings.
Re: Essex cricket
Hampshire 51-4 Must be a shit track to score runs on or the ball is swinging like crazy?

"Just under 4 overs to knock off the 30 runs for victory. Only 14 points difference between Su££ey and Essex with four fixtures to play Essex: Hampshie (a), Middlesex (h), Hampshire (h), Northants (a). Surrey: Somerset (a), Warwickshire (h), Northants (h), Hampshire (a)."

"Harry Finch is the club pro for East Grinstead, good to see he can still do it at the top level."

Re: Essex cricket
"Went over to Chelmsford today for my first visit this season and thought I would see Essex wrap up a win in three days, but fair play to Kent on taking it to four days and hoping the weather doesn't decide on a draw. The seamers (S.Cook, Porter and Bracewell) didn't get much change from the pitch or the Kent batsmen Ben Compton and Harry Finch, very decent 114 from Finch. Huge effort from Harmer bowling 40 overs for 3 wickets at only 1.60 runs per over."

Re: Essex cricket
DLS in a t20 is complete nonsense. Using DLS in the middle of the afternoon to deny a team a proper match after all the work that has gone into qualifying is a scandal. There was a reserve day and that should have been used. No wonder the ECB thought they needed The Hundred after that SHIT SHOW

Re: Essex cricket
"Congratulations to the wurzels, best team throughout the tournament and deserving winners and if it couldn't be us I'm glad it's them Lots of other things: - brainless batting yet again. Shouldn't be at all surprised, been the same throughout the tournament, consistently 3 or 4 down in the powerplay and this time Sams and critch couldn't dig us out of it. Having just watched Surrey do exactly the same thing makes it doubly unforgivable - by extension of that, having just watched Surrey do that, can see there's a bit in the pitch, so your best batsman has to play in the final. Absolutely loaded with bowling options, and yet the one player at the club with the quality and brains to anchor a small chase doesn't play. Insane - all of the test ground counties should be embarrassed. We're not a good t20 side. All that money, all that poaching of players, and not one of them makes the final. Led by Surrey, an absolute collection of losers - Nigel LLONG shouldn't be allowed to officiate a game at any level again. He's either completely incompetent or a cheat, and I'm not sure which one is worse. The same man who ruled that Dominic Drakes wasn't interfering with the runner when he Rugby tackled someone in the quarter final, overruling a perfectly clean catch in the final that everyone including the on field umpires thought was out. Ultimately proved the difference between the sides. Dodgy in the extreme. https://twitter.com/bbctms/status/1680292192332414976 - the weather forecast. Imagine having one job, and that's to predict the weather. Not even predict it really, just have a bunch of really expensive kit tell you what's going to happen, and yet still be THAT wrong. Useless cunts - finals day remains one of the best sporting days on the calendar. If anyone needed a reminder of why the hundred is so completely pointless, yesterday provided it. End of the day, we rode our luck to get to the final so no complaints about coming second to the best team in the country, but having got there we really should have won it and but for the mind bending idiocy of our approach and a cheating kent cսnt we would have done so."
