Davey. That's why I say they are lucky that there aren't the top quality defensive options England had in the past but there must be English defenders out there actually playing week in week out.

Think the truth is that Southgate has had a short look at JWP and doesnt want him. Bowen only got a chance the summer before this when they had some post season games and many didnt fancy them. Another that Southgate seems resistant to.

The aim should be getting towards a squad for Euro 2024 next June Some odd decisions .... should have marked the cards of Maguire & K Phillips at the end of last season and told them to sort out their careers & be somewhere where they will play. Jordan Henderson should have been told that if he was off to play football in the sand castles his international career was done. Picked Sterling non stop when he was out of form and now leaves him out when its picked up. Not sure what Nick Pope has done to be left out for Sam Johnstone. Especially as Dean Henderson has signed for Palace today so Johnstone will soon be no.2 at Palace. Obviously doesnt rate JWP & dont mind Bowen having a weekend off.
