Re: ‚ö? Lincoln v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
"ludo - I'm not saying I have much hope pinned to Ings, I'm just saying it how it is. At the moment, Ings is second in the pecking order, which doesn't necessarily mean that Mubama can't get a start, but we all know what our manager is like. You seem to have your hopes pinned to Mubama. The problem is that we have had many emerging youngsters over the years (eg Diangana) that people pin a lot of hope to, only for them to disappoint. Right now I think a lot of people have unrealistic expectations of Mubama and that can create pressure on the lad. Moyes is absolutely right to hold him back a bit and just give him occasional chances to impress, which he will need to do if he's going to progress. I don't want to see him trying to run before he can walk and ending up getting a load of flack from some of our less charitable fans."
Re: ‚ö? Lincoln v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
"Pretty sure Ings will start and if I was Mubama, I'd be very disappointed with the lack of games so far this season, especially with all the performances in pre-season and big talk from Moyes saying he will be part of the first team this season. The problem is we have a few players like Ings, Cornet, who do nothing for the team but probably because of their transfer fee and wages, we feel obliged to get something out of them, and it's preventing the likes of Mubama getting a chance. It's often been like that and part of the reason for the young players who've left over the last few years."
Re: ‚ö? Lincoln v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
"the exile - you may have your hopes pinned to Danny Ings but I certainly don't. If Antonio gets injured then I don't see Ings galloping in on his white charger to save us. As I said Mubama (or however you spell it) isn't in the U21 squad anymore so isn't playing for them so needs game time just as much as Ings, who at least has run around for 10-15 minutes most games. Brighton have been happy to play a 19 year old striker so it would be nice to see our prolific young striker given a chance. As you say, hopefully he will get at least 30 mins or so. Apparently Calum Marshall also trained with the first team yesterday so perhaps he might get a run out as well."

Re: ‚ö? Lincoln v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
"Antonio, Areola, Emerson, Paqueta, Ward-Prowse, Bowen & Zouma haven’t travelled to Lincoln for tonight’s game so that should help narrow down team predictions."
Re: ‚ö? Lincoln v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
"Ludo - the point of Ings playing is to keep him match fit and hopefully get him firing. I would have thought that was pretty obvious. Hopefully Mubama (please note the spelling!!!) gets half an hour. But look, even if Mubama does really well, that's only the beginning of what he needs to do if he's going to leapfrog Ings and become second choice striker."
Re: ‚ö? Lincoln v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
Because he is now in the first team squad Muamba isn't playing for the U21 either (apart from a very occasional outing) so he basically isn't playing. Didn't even make the bench last weekend. We all know what Ings can do (LOL) so what is the point of him playing tonight unless we play two strikers.

Re: ‚ö? Lincoln v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
"If Ings starts instead of Muamba then you really have to wonder why the latter wasn't farmed out, as if he doesn't start in this one then he never will will, particularly with the Euro games being harder this season. We now have a big squad and a lot of good youngsters and they have happened at the same time, so hard to see how any youngsters are getting in unless they are totally exceptional."
Re: ‚ö? Lincoln v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
Must be good chance Mubama starts this. Even with changes we should have a very strong side out.
