"We may have played a number of pub sides, but it would be good for the club to have that record, and we could keep it for decades maybe. The downside is it gives Moyes more ammo to crow about with his cheap digs."

With Antonio out I can't see Moyes not starting Ings. Personally I'd put Bowen in the middle and Kudus on the right. Will be very interesting to see Moyes's selection. Very occasionally he does spring the odd surprise. I will have money on Dinos scoring (from a JWP corner).

"From the paper thread: David Moyes can overtake two managerial greats if West Ham avoid defeat at SC Freiburg in the Europa League today. The Hammers would reach a notable milestone by making it 17 consecutive European matches unbeaten, a record for an English team, on the back of their Europa Conference League triumph last season. That would take them one clear of the records set by Don Revie's Leeds in the 1960s and Bill Nicholson’s 1970s Tottenham side. ""I didn’t know that. Not bad names then, are they?"" said Moyes. ""People who know football will tell you they were two incredibly gifted managers over a long period in English football. ""It would be a great achievement if we can do that. Let’s hope we can keep it going. We’ve done well in Europe over the last couple of seasons. We want to try to continue that."" Moyes will go ultra defensive to ensure his name enters the record books... as said below a 1-1 would be a great result."

On the other hand of you're Freiburg's defence you're gonna be well pleased that you ain't going to be fighting with Antonio all night and then you realise you've got the fast skillful direct goalscoring Kudus to deal with instead. Back in your box Germans! Not a terrible replacement. Moyes better fucking play him.

"Yeah agree Vexed. A striker in Jan being mooted by the self appointed ITKs ( Ex etc) but until then we continue to rely on a 34 year old wide man / battering ram. His role has value as imo it does help create room and space for the likes of Bowen to capitalise but Antonio just not technically good enough to be a good finisher of chances. In the subject of Bowen, some rumour he has a slight knock too? Worry is we play him and he succumbs to injury too which would be a bigger blow as he is our main source of goals from open play"

Shame antonio is out. Shift Bowen central and have kudus on the right with the two of them switching through the game. Also I read that we can set a record for the longest unbeaten streak in Europe for an English club tonight.

"No Antonio equals no goals. Moyes to try to play out a turgid 0-0 and hope for a set piece. I'd like to see Kudus up top, Bowen needs to play and I'm even more sure that Soucek is playing tonight. Could be a grim watch, a draw puts pressure on the Olympiakos away game, Freiburg already did the business there. Striker in January surely?"

"Ings was a panic buy as we struggled in a relegation campaign last season. Unfortunately, Villa and Emery realised he was “going over that hill” to the downward slope with his best years behind him. His strengths being positioning and finishing. But even at Villa his lack of pace and strength were evident and you need that in the Premiership. He needs to drop to the Championship or lower imo. As others say, he also operates better in a 2 so several reasons why he needs to be moved on. Another misjudged striker signing to go with the other 50 under Sullivans tenure. Steidten’s arrival will hopefully continue to see us avoid these mistakes going forward. Moyes will probably persist with “trying to get a tune out of him” which might be because he was pushing for bringing him in during the panic of last Jan? But it’s literally “flogging a dead horse” imo. Try Kudus or move Bowen central and pop Kudus wide left? That seems to be the obvious move but like I say , Moyes will persist with Ings tonight and I think it is unlikely to get any better. Mubama needs some minutes too but not tonight’s fixture. Solution is obviously to get a proper and better striker in as Antonio is effective in some games but never has had the finishing quality needed. We just have to hope our Moyesball tactics are at their best and no fckups defensively like Oggy last time. Be interesting as both teams are happy for the opposition to have possession."

"Alfs That sums us up , relying on a 34 year out Antonio who has more shit games than good. and replacing him with Ings who has scored plenty of goals in his career but as we know can’t play in Moyes defeatist system."

"Perfect opportunity to start with Kudus and Bowen right and central, either way will do. Never worth starting Ings when we concede so much possession. Kudus is exactly what we need."

Vexed That's not a fact because it's not happened yet. I'm saying when it actually comes to the games Olympiacos will turn out to be the hardest. We'll get a draw in Frieburg yet suffer a defeat in Greece.

I haven't seen anything about Moyes doing a presser for this yet. Anyone know when he's doing it?
