...and I guess since we're doing keyboard shortcut lessons....

- CTRL-SHIFT-V is 'Paste and get rid of any formatting' | like if pasting from a Word Document
- CTRL-C is 'Copy' | Before Pasting
- CTRL-X is 'Cut | before pasting, to remove from somewhere else.
- CTRL-A is 'Select All'
- CTRL-B is 'Make selected text bold'.
- CTRL-U is 'make selected text underline;
- CTRL-BACKSPACE is 'delete whole word to the left'
- CTRL-DELETE is 'delete the whole word to the right'

....and of course....

- WIPE KNOB ON SCREEN - if something isn't working, and is technology related. Usually resolves...otherwise turn it off and on.

Stubbo - and of course as said you can use CTRL-V which is probably the quickest option.

Superb. Thanks for that.

I never knew CTRL-V was a paste option, and yes it works!

Ive been getting that over the last few days, too. Random.
Just tried this.

If you right click near the cursor (same line) paste is an option.  If you right click, say, half way down the editor screen it doesn't recognise it for text input and doesn't offer Paste as an option (so if you want to go that way, click on the line you're on).

And of course as said you can use CTRL-V which is probably the quickest option.

You have to use ctrl and V to paste

When are we getting black font posters back?

General feedback is it's what everyone wants. You can always change it permanently if your preference is different.

I thought the original post date was an improvement... given some that apoear turn out to be bumped threads... I always wanted to see it on the old site too... has no one else thought it was an improvement???
No. Pipe down.

The less tampering with the old setup the better.
As a poster that has clearly changed their username you should have no say whatsoever.... so do one!

Have today hidden the date a thread started from the list of threads (we didn't have that before) as well as remove the 'page' icons (most go straight to the latest post anyway, so jumping pages at the point of thread selection just clutters the screen.

Good shout. No need to display how many pages on each thread on the main page, as it tells you that still when clicking on a thread.

I suspect what I'll end up doing once we have a 'stable' setup, is introducing an option to switch between a more 'modern' theme and the standard one...so those who like the extra stuff on screen can choose that, and those who prefer the reduced, cleaner look can choose that.  Will just take some time.

Ah, OK, thanks. Got it now.

I'd zoomed in on the page and "lost" the right hand edge.

Manuel wrote: 06 Sep 2024, 05:07 Thanks. I think the 10 mins or so time limit to edit/delete is bang on.

Forgot to mention, an indicator for read/unread posts is also shown to the left of the logo, so actually it's shown twice. As you say not a biggie and of course it will take time to perfect, but so far a very good job and it's beginning to feel more like WHO each day.
Done.
? Both of the read/unread indicators are still showing?
