"OS West Ham United complete signing of central defender Maximilian Kilman from Wolves West Ham United is delighted to announce the signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers central defender Maximilian Kilman. The 27-year-old has put pen to paper on a seven-year contract at London Stadium after spending six hugely successful years at Molineux, where he played under new Hammers Head Coach Julen Lopetegui and was named captain last year. Possessing plenty of Premier League experience, Kilman has forged a strong reputation as a hugely talented and reliable defender with more than 150 appearances at Wolves, where he played his part in their run to the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals in 2019/20. Having started his career at non-league Maidenhead United, where he was managed by Hammers legend Alan Devonshire, Kilman has thrived ever since moving up to the top flight with his August 2018 move to the Midlands, and is now thrilled to be taking the next step of his career in east London"

£40 million for this guy is just insane. He is bang average in my opinion.

Much needed signing. We are down to the bare bones in terms of fit and able CBs. Always thought he was decent at Wolves. If fact I thought he might have come onto Southgate's radar as a left footed centre back.l for the Euros. Better off resting up for his new club and new season

"Manuel 12:27 Sat Jul 6 Contract can be any length, but the maximum length of time you can pay the fee over is now 5 years - to stop what Chelsea were doing"

"There isn't a maximum length for contracts as such, but last year they introduced a new rule that there is a maximum of 5 years that the transfer fee can be spread over. Perhaps no-one told Tim. Seems pointless to offer such a long deal to a 27 year old without the benefit of spreading the cost in the accounts."

"FMOB 7 years, that's him set for life. I thought the max contract was 5 years now, but must have that wrong? Def seeing more of Timmy with Moyes now long gone."

"He ticks all the boxes we need to replace Aguerd: Left footed, home grown, a leader, can play out the back, Premier League experience. Anyone who wants to moan about the money he cost please let me know of a viable alternative who has most of the above traits."
