Improved contract bid for Cummings rejected. Will aim to get the pre contract signed.

I think other prem clubs were mentioned. Also wouldn’t hurt to have him in and around the first team getting experience for next season. What’s that, 2 18 year olds and 1 20 year old striker in this window! We have gone complete opposite on what we normally do.
You mean we’ve been linked to 2 18 year olds and a 20 year old? Can’t see us signing 3 strikers somehow!
Looks like we’ve signed two already

One thing that Potter has shown in his brief time at West Ham is tactical flexibility and willingness to make such changes during games. Something we have never seen a West Ham coach or manager do in recent years.
Well that's not true as Lopetegui made loads of changes during games. Possibly too many actually.
Lopetegui made so many in game changes purely because he always got the starting line up pathetically wrong.
He just played personnel and formation roulette for over 20 games, the clueless berk

Not sure, but it sounds like Noble has been quite heavily involved.
Don't think a pre-contract is truly binding - if he were to breakthrough more heavily second half of the season bigger clubs might get involved.

What’s the deal with this Cummings kid? Surely if he was one for the development squad we would just wait until the summer given he has agreed a pre/contract. By trying to pay up to het him now suggests he may join up with the first team. Is he ready for that?

He did make changes true but that was not necessarily always accompanied by a tactical tweak that players could understand and implement. Lopetegui made wholesale changes but Potter more tactical tweaks like when he pushed Emerson further forward 2nd half against Villa and that was without a change of personnel. Lopetegui was more “lurching” from one thing to another on a large scale in desperation which seemed to make players more confused. He probably saw it as tactical switches but it was hard to see on the pitch because the original tactics were mever clear in the first place

JWP unfortunately wont solve the lack of “legs” pace and strength in central midfield but is another tactical option to spring on teams if Potter decides he wants to go more direct to Ferguson, Soucek during a game? One thing that Potter has shown in his brief time at West Ham is tactical flexibility and willingness to make such changes during games. Something we have never seen a West Ham coach or manager do in recent years.

I’d say it’s a pretty shit window, unless they have something already lined up for the summer. And knowing this club I very much doubt it.
we had 3 issues:
no fit strikers
no quality or depth at centre half
no stamina of strength at centre midfield
we solved the first one by signing a CF with a dubious injury record, and the third by recalling JWP who has the same limitations as all our other centre mids.
and now we’re reliant on Mavrapanos for god knows how long.

Ferguson and JWP in is actually a decent enough window. Just a shame we can't get Aguerd back.
Says it all about Lopetegui really that we have better players out on loan than the ones who have been starting all season.

Jwp can only be loaned elsewhere not recalled to okay for us and Ferguson apparently isn't over the line either
I’m pretty certain he can’t play for another team this season apart from us. He isn’t the world’s greatest but is a solid premiership player so an upgrade on what we currently have. I think he will work well under Potter. No point sitting on their bench and losing value. Quite a sensible decision really.
Is he an upgrade on what we have, if Soucek and him start together we are fucked, he was fucking awful last season. Yeah he got assists but he took every free kick and corner.
Was also responsible for quite a few goals conceded by not tracking his man.
I think he is better than Rodriguez and Irving as an option. All opinions!

I understand JWP has been recalled.
Great news if true
The new york times are reporting it, bit of an unusual source. Wasn't convinced about him but agree it has to be a positive as Rodders is old and shit, and nobody knows what Soler is meant to be. Assume Potter thinks JWP can be useful, set pieces, knows the PL etc.
The nytimes has a tie in with "the athletic" - ornstein/roshane thomas. Ornstein also reporting jwp back to west ham by mutual consent, not by recall. Im ok with this, potter can have a look at him and decide whether to keep or tart him up to move on.

Anyway so looking like, Ferguson, Cummings and JWP today. It’s the last day so I’m sure there will be more movement. The Liverpool midfielder or maybe one from Chelsea? And then we have to be in for a CB! Wishful thinking maybe!

JWP coming back to sit on our bench instead of ours. An extra body I suppose but fuck me I hope I don't see him starting for us
