A brilliant away day. Bowen and Paqueta pumped. Where was Forest’s famous atmosphere. Love our fans when we large it in provincial towns and come home with three points, rare as it is. The train home is buzzing.
One of them games you wish you’d gone

Clever but risky tactics by Potter,he knew Forest would come at us first hour or so then put on subs with pace against Forest tired legs later in game and it worked

I like a back three when it has the right players. Which we don't.
But I would say the biggest difference today was that wingers (Bowen and Summerville when he came on) were in formation that they could play as wingers.
But we had to keep it tight and all credit to the defence and midfield who still battled to do that.

Dinos is our best centre half, no doubt in my mind. He’s earned a starting place.
I did try telling everyone before the season started. He's prone to a ricket, of course, but give me his heart and desire over the other 3 flakes. He was immense today, and he had to be, as Kilman was shit as usual.
Keeper didn't have a lot to do, but what he did, he done well. Thrown into the lions den on reflection, let's hope it was just early wobbles, as we need him to be good. Jaan will be devastated if he turns out good, but what can you do.
KWP over AWB, all day every day, looks a good little player, and defensively much more savvy, the latter has no defensive nous whatsoever.
Diouf is only 20, some forget that, but he's going to be an excellent player for us. That delivery for the Wilson goal was special.
I've never known a player like Paq. Performing genuinely world class at times, bossing the game, and in between making some of the worst passes you'll ever see. But overall, magnificent today.
Fernandes is top notch, you can see straight away. Bin off JWP and play this lad central.
Summerville's injury thankfully hasn't affected his pace, he was absolute dynamite when he came on, has to start against Spurs.
Final word for Wilson, let's be honest, if he stays fit and plays like that, he'll be the best striker we've had at the club for a long time. Still hate it as a signing, but you can see why he's played for England.

It's no surprise that when you add a bit of pace that things happen. Great few minutes back for Summerville. Involved in all the goals.
Defence much more settled with 4 at the back. Still lack someone directing them but bar a couple of free headers we managed the corners really well. Diouf is a real weapon with that cross if you can get him forward. Paqueta great today with his work rate and despite a couple of poor giveaways he was bright, wanted the ball, unlucky not to score early, some good defending and cool finish for the penalty. I really hope he stays and we can knit a new midfield together where he thrives.
Wilson impressed, not sure how good he would be to do 90 minutes but he showed good feet and movement, good strength up front too.
important 3 points, makes a huge difference and if we can get some points in the next couple of matches we will be looking up the table. I still think we need a defender in for Aguerd and if we can move on Rodriguez and Irvine then another energetic midfielder.

5 at the back was being used to “protect” the weaker three defensively, when ironically Kilman looked far more comfortable in a 4 alongside a more commanding, old fashioned style defender.

What a relief, and what a turnaround after Irving and not least Summerville came in.
Fantastic stuff and about time to drop the 5 at the back

That will hopefully be the last time that we see JWP wandering around aimlessly in the WHU midfield.
The team had a better balance once the substitutes came on with more pace and aggression.

I won’t get too carried away but hopefully people can stop worrying about how much Fernandes cost. He’s come in and is instantly our best midfielder alongside Paqueta. That’s all that matters really.
21 and looks to be able to do a bit of everything.

I suppose the difference between fullkrug and Wilson is that Wilson can make his own goals. He’s not reliant on perfect service. Fullkrug needs to move around more. I’d be interested to see both of them play together though.
I've seen enough of Fullkrug, he offers very little except a good shot if he gets the chance. I dont want to see any more of him. We need a pacey lively striker before the window shuts. This Franculino Dju looks interesting, he'd do.

Thought KWP was pretty solid. Keeps his place for me. Ditto Mavro.
Hate to say it but Wilson was a much better option than Fullkrug.

Forgot to mention Fernandez, he had himself a nice debut. Give him a minute to settle In and he could become a fan favorite.
Life is so much better when West Ham get their shit together, let’s all hope we have finally turned the corner.

Can’t blame Wilson for taking the ball off Jarod.
Hes on 50p a week and 100k a goal.

I had zero faith. Never have I been so sure we’d lose.
A back 4 and decent subs and we end up winning comfortably. Funny ol game.
Special mentions for Summerville who changed the game. Irvine did really well too. Fernandes tired 2nd half but looks a good buy amd good pwrfoemances from Diouf and our back 4. Wilson was a physical nuisance we have missed for so long up front so might well make a decent impact sub. Paqman? is amnenigma, worked his socks olff, gave a good performance overall but he’s so guilty of costly turnovers. We need more centre mid reinforcements. At keast he got Irvine on for fresh legs so got that right but JWP was anonymous especialky 2nd half and Soucek and him in there will always tire by 60 mins. Lets hope we get one more in addition to Magassa
Potter survives for now but moreover its so good to see West Ham win a game of football.

Bloody hell wonder what the odds were on that. One swallow doesn't make a summer but that was pretty much the perfect away performance. Credit to Potter because whatever he did on the training pitch worked. Defended brilliantly, especially in the air, which is a total about turn from last week. Every player contributed even JWP who I thought protected the back four pretty well. All of those back four did well. KWP looks a decent signing, and Fernandes played very wel, Paqueta picked it up after half time, Jarrod back to his best and Summerville, wow, jut wow, to play like that even in a cameo after last playing in January. Just hope his hammy holds with those bursts of speed. Wilson showed more in 15 minute than the German in the first 75. Didn't realise he was so nifty on his feet for a big man. Just a shame he got in the way of Bowen's Payet'esque mazy dribble. A young hungry striker would be a good addition, could Marshall step up? Great performance and great to see that moaning Gibb's-White moaning even more. What a difference pace makes eh. What a surprise that is!!

I've been critical of him in the past but he was outstanding today. Better from Kilman but was asleep for Woods header.

A top drawer performance today. Everyone, apart from JWP and the Kraut obviously, played their part. I just hope it’s not a false dawn.

We did, for ten minutes at Sunderland. They kept bumping into each other

Did we play a proper back four and keep a clean sheet? Probably a coincidence.
It's what a fair few of us on here kept calling for. Finally Potter acted and it unsurprisingly worked.

Diouff was man of the match for me, solid in defense and whips in a lovely cross every time, also runs his arse off.
Summerville made a big difference when he came on, glad he is finally back.
Wilson looks like he is a handful. He needs to start.
Bowen had a great second half and Paqueta had his best game in a long time.
I thought Mavro played well and KWP had himself a good game.
Some real promising signs to be taken from this game.
Nice result especially the clean sheet.
Things are finally looking up again.
