Football Super league rumours yet again !!
"Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur all agree to plan. Five English clubs are among 11 European teams who have signed up to a breakaway Super League in an extraordinary development on the eve of Uefa's announcement of a new Champions League format. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/04/18/sports/soccer/super-league-united-liverpool-juventus-madrid.html"

"Who's had a pop at Klopp, RB? If anyone was throwing pops around, it was him."
Re: Football Super league rumours yet again !!
At the end of the day. Having a pop at Klopp is wrong. The guy is still a payed employee. He goes to bed on Sunday worried about Leeds. Wakes up on Monday. And the world and his brother are on his back. Don’t matter what you do for a living. Or how much you get paid. That type of crap is nowhere in the job description. We all know the owners are hiding behind the staff. Lawyers. And emails. They are the ones we should be targeting. Not someone just trying to do their job.

Re: Football Super league rumours yet again !!
Perhaps all the European leagues should agree that no club playing within any of those leagues is allowed to sell a player to any team in the ESL. If that were the case the only players playing there would be South American and African (the odd Yank and Asian player too). They would have to have draw from their own football academies and explain to those young kids that they are likely never to be allowed to play for their country. If money means that much to them then let them go.

Re: Football Super league rumours yet again !!
I know it's about the Bagels but I thought this was spot on by Littlejohn https://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-9488757/RICHARD-LITTLEJOHN-Footballs-gone-wind-frankly-dears-dont-damn.html Trunds... yeah that's how I saw it.... said he had not changed his stance .... but would rather have a go at Gaz Nev and LUFC
Re: Football Super league rumours yet again !!
Surely anyone wanting to bring the Jock 2 in to the Premierleague are just doing on a smaller scale to Scotland what the ESL are doing to the Premierleague. ONLY way to do that would be to create a UK pyramid structure not have guest teams like we already have with the Taffs.
Re: Football Super league rumours yet again !!
"The PL without the big six will be fine. It will seem odd for year or two but life goes on and it will (for us and the other clubs) be just as good. It will be like a 'super' championship. The very best players may be missing but it will be like a step back to more traditional times. It is a chance for football in England to re-set. Obviously finances will be affected but so what if players need to take a pay cut, I'm sure they can survive on 40-50k instead of 100k pw. The ESL will soon become boring. In five years time they will clamour to get back into the PL. I don't suppose UEFA will but they should get rid of CL and revert back to a champions only knock out competition. Rather than being the end this should be seen as a new beginning... just fuck the 6 greedy bastards."

"Sounds good, but it will destroy what is left of Jockistan football. Which is the opposite of the overall intention."

Re: Football Super league rumours yet again !!
"What makes me laugh is how Barca owe 1b apparently and Madrid lost 400m last season. If the biggest most successful clubs dont know how to spend money now, when they get the most money anyway, why will that end? They'll get even more dough in the ESL and I guarantee will be in EXACTLY the same situation as they find themselves in now. Look at how Man U spunked money since Fergie left! They keep moaning about how they dont get their fair share and how they are the big draw etc.. but its because they dont know how to spend in the first place that they are always looking for more. We have a league format in the European Cup because of them! They threatened UEFA with a super league and thats how we got the champions league. Not content with winning it 3 times recently Madrid still want more fucking money! When will it end? I'd get rid of them. They dont know how to behave at all. I predict that Man U fans who support this will end up in football hell. They will never win the ESL title because the owners dont care about winning. Barca and Madrid will spunk all the new money on Neymar v2 and still be broke, just so they can constantly win the new league and Arsenal / Spurs will be just as tight and never compete to win it anyway. It will also mean that with no chance of being relegated, the lower teams in the new venture (Arse, Spurs etc..) will not try to compete and the standard of football will be worse than now. Why try when your guaranteed the money? Let them go to their self built football hell.."

"I think sky missed an opportunity last night, the should have asked Klippety after the Leeds game. How does it after such a great result to know you have now guaranteed European football for this great club forever And on that subject how come the white shit side of North London have sacked Mourinho, after all first cup final in years and permanent European football, what more could he have done. Deduct all 6 15 points and ban them from next year's and all subsequent super league years prem league, fa Cup, league Cup and any other competitions that we can ban them from. And if City still somehow look like winning the title on the final day deduct another 15 points."

Re: Football Super league rumours yet again !!
"I missed Klopp pre recorded message at the start of the show last night, but I didn't really get the impression he was dead against the idea when he was put on the spot live after the game. He was more concerned about giving it to Gary Neville because he dared to question the whole ""You'll Never Walk Alone"" thing Liverpool have going, and giving it to Leeds for them leaving the t shirts they wore before the game started (which Klopp refused to get his team to wear)."
Re: Football Super league rumours yet again !!
The breakaway clubs must have anticipated the backlash and are using phrases like legacy fans which would suggest they have segmented the old and the new. The see the new as far more profitable so will crack on anyway. See our stadium move for a small insight in to how these people think.
Re: Football Super league rumours yet again !!
"Players Not difficult to see that an older player on his final contract may well like the idea Young aspiring players less so It's nothing more than a glorified Chinese league Beckham has come out against, shop steward Neville and a host of retired club legends and stars. If this gathers pace with current players rejecting the concept it will get interesting - Ronaldo anyone?"

Re: Football Super league rumours yet again !!
"More now from Fifa president Gianni Infantino, who says clubs ""must live"" with their choices. If some elect to go their own way, they must live with consequences of their choice,"" said Infantino. ""They are responsible for their choice completely. This means you are either in or you are out. You cannot be half in and half out. ""Think about it. Everyone has to think about it. This has to be absolutely, absolutely clear."" Looks like it's OUT then"
Re: Football Super league rumours yet again !!
Will it happen or will the backlash be strong enough to stop it?
Re: Football Super league rumours yet again !!
"Can there be much point to the remainder of the season ? Liverpool will complain like only they can, that Leeds gave even more than normally do, those t-shirts were a start. Chelsea will poison half of Brighton before the game tonight and then cry that their players were put in an impossible position . Maybe Mount will be forced to a catalogue of deliberate back passes for Wellbeck to miss and hit the outside of the post. Eventually just himself abnging one in past Mendy. Listening to an intelligent footballer ,for once, like Bamford , say he disagreed with the concept. There will be numerorous players like him (there will also be severla players who don't give a shit too ) disagreeing and talking about it. Can't see Rashford staying silent."
