"Waste of energy hoping anything will change but at least we can voice our frustrations on forums :-). As you say, obvious that Scamacca likes to play in at least a pair and is not a lone striker or battering ram. You can see he likes to come deep receive the ball but immediately lay it off to a team mate as part of a team with possession and movement. But Moyes plays him a Italian Andy Carroll. Andreas Carolli ( or maybe Charlie Cairoli to reflect the man in charge ?)."

"Totally agree, Trunds. I think Scamacca playing in a 3-5-2 or something similar (3-4-1-2?) is a VERY different player to the one we've seen. Get him a strike partner - everything about his game says he needs somebody to work off/with."

"If Sullivan cant come up with anyone fresher and better than Benitez he needs to give the powers to Kretinsky, no way hes as clueless!!!!"

"We must, as u say, be the worst run top level club in Europe ? It's a direct reflection of the ownership. They are simply clueless but that ignorance is combined with arrogance that in turn is a classic trait of insecure types. Little man syndrome. History is full of them. Most court / create disaster and cause havoc within their sphere of influence. Putin, Hitler, Napoleon and errr Sullivan. But harsh comparing him to Hitler etc.. but little man syndrome spells ""danger""ù. :-( In short, we are fvcked and going down faster than Katie Price's drawers :-("

"Ditto Paqueta. I genuinely can't tell whether we've signed a £50m player, massively overspent on a dud, or have something n between, because what is more certain is that Moyes has very little idea how to use him. And Moyes' basic system does not easily accommodate a Paqueta-type player. We've spent £160m on players Moyes cannot coach."

I'm not writing off any of our players before we get a new manager in. He's the problem.

"Some of the players we bought are 'duds' in the sense that they are clearly not David Moyes players. So they're 'dud' choices for a team coached by that manager. Scamacca, for example, is not a David Moyes striker. He's not mobile enough to chase lost causes and long punts from inaccurate defenders, doesn't press high up the pitch etc. Antonio is the ultimate Moyes striker for his counter-attacking (hit and hope) system, as he showed for a couple of years. Scamacca doesn't have the same pace or willingness to run into channels etc. It's not his game. Doesn't mean he's a poor player - far from it: I think he's probably a very fine striker and a real handful in the right system. Scamacca, like Haller, probably needs to play as part of a strike partnership (as he did in Italy) and not alone upfront in mad 5-4-1 formations where there's often no team-mate within 20 meters of him and the only other attacking players are cutting in from the wings - 30 or so meters from him. Get a second striker, or a genuine #10 as a withdrawn striker close to Scamacca and working off him - and I bet you'd see the guy come alive. But Moyes won't play that way. Which makes you wonder why we signed a striker the manager can't or won't use properly. It's fuckin nuts. Complete shambles. So we've got a £35m striker and Italy international sitting on the fucking bench against the likes of Wolves. Get rid of Moyes and properly think through which manager and coaches will maximise the players that we have just spent a fortune on."

It gets better or worse depending how you look upon it . The mail are reporting the clubs had serious worries about Moyes and the team since well before the end of last season . If there's a club anywhere on this planet run worse than us . il be absolutely astounded.

Well maybe LJC.......they are 'duds' in the context of this season and will continue to be so until they are employed correctly by someone competent.

"simon s you are right. That Stadium will be an easty place to come next year for many sides looking to take a 'scalp'. That and the staggering losses we will take having blown 180M on duds last summer will make going down without an immeidate bounce back financially devasating. Cannot fathom why Sullivan is not scared shitless at the prosect of losing a fortune, clearly he couldnt give a shit about us or the clubs future, but he presumably would be worried about his financial prospects and how it would impact the clubs value?"

"Relegation in itself is not even really the issue. After all, we've been here enough times before, and the Championship would throw up some good away days. It's getting relegated in THAT stadium. That's the real problem."

"It does have a feeling of 2010-11, doesn't it? What I mean by that is if we were to get relegated, then it wouldn't actually be a surprise or a shock when it happens as it's been death by a thousand cuts over the course of the last 12 months with Moyes steering the ship, and the owner(s) have simply sat on their hands hoping things might get better."

"Surely they just carry on paying him and sack him, they don't have to give him 7 million now Put him on gardening leave for 6 months Sullivan can pay off the contract when he sells the club"

"I try to look on that poll in a positive light. The majority (53%) want him gone. I'd bet all of those voting for ""unsure"" want neither Moyes or Benitez. Weird they'd put a loaded poll on there to try and gain support for keeping Moyes though."

"Pentonville 11:37 Wed Jan 18 That's harsh in my opinion. It's not Rice's fault he's arguably the best DM in the world and that West Ham aren't matching his ambition. There's always going to be leaks and rumours and remarks about where he'll end up because that's what happens when young players, who just happen to be class, play at clubs that aren't elite. Not sure what your are blaming Rice for?"

"digging our rice when there have clearly been issues for a year (prem results shocking) ... is a strange take, i agree. we have a top seven squad who this dinosaur manager is simply incapable of using to it's best. add leaving form players on the bench (benny) and playing out of form players (soucek) then it's blatant stubborn incompetence. jog him on ffs or like the 42 point season, watch a fucking good squad go down."

I see the Werther's Original piss smelling pensioner's over at KUMB have started a poll between having Benitez. Or keeping Moyes.Currently most want to stick with Moyes.! Proof. If any was needed. That it's been infuriated top to bottom with N17 vermin.

There are a couple of London boroughs currently run by folk who will drive the authority off a cliff. But they'll be long gone before the real problems materialise - and will have landed a cushy role elsewhere. Nailed on.

Dyche -- NO. I'd rather give Mark Noble the chance to save us!
