Gotta accept Potter is here next season and hope he turns it around

Good point about goose being spuds fan as you know how quick an Eyetie changes sides when faced with defeat

Just been trying to get a different perspective from Kumb and they’ve made some very valid points over there which have made me reassess the situation
for instance the point has been made that Amorim has actually been doing worse at Man U than what Potter has been doing at West Ham
it’s a great point that a lot of us are guilty of not taking into consideration
I mean yes you’ve got to ignore a few small things like Amorim has them at least trying to play attacking football, and statistically Amorim has been getting more points per game, scoring more goals per game and conceding less goals per game than Potter, but in the more important things like the amount of throw ins we get per game, or the amount of times we play the ball backwards, Potter is absolutely coming out on top and showing his class
Amorim has the harder job. Man U gets put under microscope far more than we do. Amorim actually has a record of achievement far beyond Potter so you’d be forgiven for giving him the benefit of the doubt in the hope that he can sort out that team.
Also, Amorim has tried to change it up, has a clear style of play he wants to implement and has had some serious high level clashes with his squad (Rashford) that make Potters issues with fullkrug seem quaint.
and Amorim can still win something this season.
even then if Amorim got sacked it would be a simple “fair enough” from most people. potter is far worse really.
I agree

Any sympathy I might have had for Potter has just gone out the window having just watched his cringe inducing post match press conference. The bloke is a twitchy mess who seems to be on the edge of a nervous breakdown. No way is he in any kind of a fit state to manage and lead a Premier league football team. I wouldn’t let him coach my grandsons the state he’s in.
When his team has just allowed another result to slip from their grasp late in the game I’d expect him to show a bit of strength of character. Yes, he can be disappointed and even a bit angry but instead we just get feeble platitudes and a distinct lack of any sense of how he intends to fix things.
How can anyone think this bloke is the future. Form under him is worse than Lopetegui. He has to go at the end of the season.

What is the point of constantly changing managers while the dwarf remnains in charge of the club in the boardroom ? Does anybody seriously think any manager with a decent reputation is going to risk it by coming to work at this basket case of a club.
We all know if Potter does get the elbow the next manager will be Sean Dyche. Ticks all the dwarf;'s boxes. So, as I say, what's the bloody point ?
That has been said a thousand times already, but that's not to see there isn't any truth in it of course. So I suppose the choice is simple, roll the dice again and just hope it somehow works out with the new bloke, or you stick with Potter? Neither feels you with any confidence, I know. Realistically though Potter will be here next season.
"Roll the dice" sums up the shit show that is West Ham undedr the dwarf's ownership perfectly. A total lottery, a game of chance when making arguably the most important appointment at the club. Which is precisely why I think it's utterly pointless talking about replacin g Potter until there is some joined up thinking coming from the boardroo m.
And I don't see that happening while the Pornmeister is still drawing breath.

The squad is “not fit for purpose”. Potter is just the latest symptom of the “Sullivan effect”.
What we dont know is if Alvarez has truly fallen out with Potter. If we want to feed the narrative that Potter is the main problem then we will assume Potter has indeed had a bust up. But we could have done with him as an option.
Its all about results now for Potter. If we won 1-2 yesterday, I suspect attitudes towards him would be somewhat different this morning.
our squad imo is still only suited to low block, low possession football. Its also awful to watch, possibly worse than “possession for possession’s sake” at the back we currently play but will get better results. Triage approach, 10 behind the ball and hope to blag a goal with a fast direct break. might not work but more likely to garner a win from the last 5 games imo
Sack Potter. Not gonna happen, unlikely to effect the turnaround some might imagine, hope for. Again imo

Yeah what a bunch of pathetic knicker wetters
talking about relegation
some of you haven’t a clue
we’re in 17th! Nowhere near the relegation places whatsoever so the future looks bright
Some of you act like we haven’t won a game in 9 weeks, when in reality it’s only been 8 and a half
Potter is doing brilliantly with the worst squad we’ve ever had
its not like he’s giving press conferences acting like a lunatic or dropping players who speak out from the starting line up like Roeder did
some of you are in desperate need of a reality check, Avram Grant, the worst manager in West Ham’s premier league history averaged a pathetic 0.87 points per game, whilst Potter is getting a massive 0.92 points per game, that’s not even close
and if all that isn’t proof enough, the all seeing and knowing prophet twoleftfeet has given Potter his seal of approval and says everything will be ok and if he doesn’t know his stuff then I don’t know who does
I mean it’s not like he’s deluded like some of you knicker wetters, he predicted we’d beat Southampton 5-0 last week and he was almost spot on
honestly what a bunch of fishing spurs fans you lot are

Not disagreeing Mike. Sullivan wont do anything yet. Needs to get to the 18 months unless we are in the bottom 3 in October. Futile to expect anything else.
Only hope is a miracle transfer window and Potter defying the odds and our expectations. Not a lot to look forward to. Im not sure heaping pressure on him will do much good either.
Back to where we have always really been with Sullivan. Hoping he dies or sells asap

it's nothing to do with personal, like it wasn't with the jock. purely a footballing issue, season after season of mediocre shit football. joyless, eight men behind the ball shit. both, and include loppy too, could have changed and tried something different but they're stuck in their ways. he's behaving in press conferences like he's about to have a breakdown, and this is in a so called prolonged pre-season with zero pressure of relegation or results
Re: Potter Out

Depressing posts from many of us but mostly because they tell the truth.
Sullivan wont pay Potter and staff off. Its pointless to pretend otherwise, other than to vent frustration, shouting for his sacking.
The personal insults and character assassination is equally futile but again allows some of us the satisfaction of belittling him. Some fans want him to react to have a confrontation and hope for “Potter out” chants asap. Will his removal help?
I would wager a kings ransom it wont. We might get a brief lift at best but the recruitment, switch to another manager’s tactics will just add another layer of confusion and disjointed thinking onto the mess Sullivan creates year on year.
He wont be paid off, he will be here for the start of next season. Its fantasy to hope for anything different. And even if Potter goes, I would also wager the next appointment will be just as ineffective and knowing Sullivan probably worse and at best temporarily arrest the slide we have been on since early 2022. For the record, and imo, Potter’s actually a decent bloke but just not a fit for West Ham manager unless the state of our squad ( imbalance, old, slow, not fit for purpose ) is actually worse than we think. It might be?
Imo we may as well give him and Macaulay the summer window and hope for marginal improvement next season to keep us in the division. Desperate, depressing yes but that is the most realistic hope because Sullivan is not, and cannot, and will not, appoint anyone that can turn our club around. We have no plan, no strategy.. its “shoot from the hip”, “ready, fire, aim”, chaotic, scattergun. As I said, in an earlier post, the best approach is probably just keep appointing managers on short term 3-6 month contracts, keep sacking them until we hopefully stumble on one that, probably via sheer luck and timing, sees a freak Moyes like revival period.
Nothing is going to get better ( sustained improvement) until Sullivan dies and even then it might not if his sons take over or he sells to someone even shadier or narcissistic than himself.
Happy sunday

That was the worst thing about yesterday. He looks like he's checked out. Barely celebrated the goals, looks completely sick of it. I'm worried about AWB now as well.
