"Thinking about last summer I would have predicted JWP but not Alvarez, Kudus or Mavropanos. I just hope Tim Steidten finds some equally good signings in January"

Yes I watched that game cheering on Gary O'Neil's team. Also it's the first time I've ever seen Broja and he was pretty much useless. No doubt Chelsea will offer him to Moyes for a bargain £40+m...

"Still need a RB and LB to seriously compete with Coufal and Emerson. ST and a LM also needed. Quite a few could leave. I reckon we will see a couple from. Johnson, Kehrer, Cornet, Benrahma and Ings heading to pastures new."

‘’If it’s a Moyes choice we don’t want them and if it’s a Tim choice Moyes won’t play them.’’ Players starting yesterday that were signed in the summer: Mavrapanos. Kudus. Ward Prowse. Alvarez.

Martin Terrier ( left sided midfielder for Rennes ) was at our game yesterday? Hopefully Steidten invited him as part of a potential deal in Jan ?

"If Moyes isn’t sacked I hope we don’t sign anyone, it’d be pointless. If it’s a Moyes choice we don’t want them and if it’s a Tim choice Moyes won’t play them. I’d rather the money was kept for the new manage"

"Maatsen would be looking to leave Chelsea for regular football. Bowen aside, Emerson had been our best player this season. We could do with upgrading our back up to him, but not at £20m for someone who will boot off of not starting week in week out."

If the right player is available ... not always in January ... then get them and hopefully it is Steidten choosing for next seasons manager. Wouldnt be against a loan striker if the one we want isnt available til the summer. There are a whole bunch that need to go .... surely those lovely Saudi's want Ings & Benrahma?

"Rumours of us going for 2 Stuttgart players. Namely, Stuttgart’s 18-goal striker Serhou Guirassy and centre-back Dan-Axel Zagadou. Just some rumour and yes we need a striker desperately but please, please let us get Zagadou. I’ve not been this excited about songs for a player since we were interested in Rod Fanny a few years back."

"I doubt we'll spend big on a striker. Bowen and Kudus have nearly 20 goals between them so far, and that will satisfy Moyes. It'll be the defence he'll be concentrating on."

"I'd be amazed if we had any big movers IN. Not particularly great business to be done in Jan usually. I'd be alright with a couple loan to buy options for a pair of fullbacks. Ideally a right back that could improve our first XI and a left back that could be more reliable than Cresswell who seems to have fallen off a cliff the last 10 or so months. Hoping Benrahma lifts his skirt towards the Saudis and they give us something near what we paid for him, but I suspect that's fantasy land."

"FCJ - we aren't getting Toney, he's wanted by both Arsenal and Chelsea. Personally i think he owes Brentford big time and owes them until the end of the season at least (unless they want to cash in now). Saw today that we are still being linked with Adam Hlozek who is now at Leverkusen but only used as a sub.... he seems destined to end up here one day."

I reckon that it’s less problem with the board spending the money these days. It’s more what Moyes wants. I am sure I saw a video of him answering a question last week saying he didn’t need a striker as there aren’t any he wants this window. I’m hoping that’s bullshit….

"In: Striker - Someone like Ivan Toney would be a good fit. battles for the ball, can score from nothing, decent in the air. Midfield - Another defensive midfielder or ball winner. Most decent ones are well known and already at huge clubs. No surprise Youssouf Fofana is being targeted by Europes largest clubs. Someone like him would transform the team. Defense - Need some competition in the full back positions. Cresswell, Johnson and Kehrer haven't got close to pressing for regular playing time. I'd like Wan-Bissaka. Pacy and hard to beat one on one. Another Centre back if Kehrer leaves as Ogbonna will like end his time with us this season also. Maybe someone versatile that covers all the above. Out - Ings: Just doesn't suit how we play. Not suited to a target man role and doesn't have the pace for counter attack game either. Kehrer - I'd like to keep him as I see a player there but he needs to play, is likely on big money and looks unsettled. Cresswell - Should have let him go in the summer when we had a bid. Stupid of the club as not only lost the chance to get money for him but also stopped him getting a good longer contract. Bit disrespectful for a player who has done well in his time at the club given we scooped him from Ipswich for next to nothing. Cornet - Isn't playing even as a sub in any competition. Another I'm surprised isn't used more but there must be an underlying issue either medical or attitude."

"Jim79 4:20 Tue Dec 19 ''Where do people get this logic of not spending money now as we'll keep it set aside for the summer and a new manager will have a larger kitty to go spending. As if our owners run a ledger and say 'seeing as we didnt spend in Jan we've got X amount of money set aside to be added to the summers spend'.'' Absolutely right, Jimbo. We have seen it many times with this board, any funds available not spent in Jan will NOT be added to any budget for the summer, it simply disappears."
