Moyes Out ( Released )
"Posted the same last year. Nothing has changed, except win don't win matches anymore. I'm fed up, we can do much better"
Re: Moyes Out
"Sounds about right Brentford 1 win and a draw in the league might play to their ""conscious bias""ù of wanting to do nothing if at all possible :-) 1 win will probably do it if it's the 2nd game. The cup is probably irrelevant to Sully. It's never mattered before. But at best we get two draws imo based on what we've seen and the oldest, slowest. least pacy team in the top 2 divisions? Only small ray of hope is the return of Aguerd and then Zouma if they stay fit. That said who's gonna score goals"
Re: Moyes Out
"Astra weren't part-timers, and they were Romanian Champions when they knocked us out the second time. We should have had too much for them, but why make out they were just a team of postmen, washing machine repairmen and office workers? (The fact that they went completely to pot more recently is irrelevant.)"

Re: Moyes Out
"I can understand why they are sticking with him as they aren't ambitious or decisive with managers and will want to be certain to a point when it's obvious even to them, but anymore than the next 3 winnable league games would be negligence & incompetence. Let's assume he's got 3 more league games, what's their minimum requirement? I'd say 4 or 5 points minimum, even 4 points is only par, so he'll need to win the cup game too if he only gets the 4pts. Over to you Moyes..."
Re: Moyes Out
"master 1:18 Sun Jan 1 Correct but it may just be confirming that Moyes with Nevin's help is trying to play a more possession based game but neither really has experience of how it's done in the current era. It now has to be allied to pressing, pace and movement. Arsenal and City, even Brighton and others try to keep the ball by passing in a 1 or 2 touch fashion but with pace and movement throughout the team allied to good technique from every player ( first touch control and highly accurate passing ) can do it very well and effectively and stretch teams, make openings to beat their press and pass thru banks of defenders behind the ball. That's how it's done. The better the player of course the better you can do it along with the game plan and coaching and drills to perfect it. Arsenal have bought players to play the Pep way and they are very young, quick, great control, passing and movement from front to back. Most of their players are in the 30-50 mill bracket so it's not cheap but Brightons aren't. Sure it's why Arsenal are better but I would be delighted if we were where Brighton are and played like them. Finally, on top of all that, the effectiveness f these teams is also the relentless, fast paced pressing when out of possession. The old Pep idea of setting a time on recovering the ball of what 10 seconds or something like that? Then you look at us? We try to keep possession but as mentioned Moyes must not understand or see or just not experienced to know that you need pace which means youth, hours of drills and coaching to play that way well. It starts with recognising who fits with the style and purchasing the right type of players and then drilling them that way and playing that way. Abject failure from the manager. The squad was already depleted and on its knees playing the way we were via counter attacks and set pieces. Once sussed we started to struggle, old players now 3 years older than when it was working. We needed to really commit to playing a different way not this half hearted, gradual evolution. If you don't have experience of doing it you tend to hold off. We also needed more than 7 new players or at least looked to develop and bring through the youngsters that fit the approach? He doesn't see it. Longelo, Ashby and maybe another. In a nutshell ( a short description which is something I never do""¶ brevity :-) ), it's all ""half baked""ù, under cooked and confirms he didn't know how to do it so waited too long, stayed with the old faithful players etc.. We now need a manager to get enough from the mismatched, incomplete squad to stay up and properly start the rebuild and coaching of a team that plays the modern way with high press, pace and movement and great technique which we are the worst or close to worst at doing in the league. Moyes has failed and doesn't know how to rectify the half baked mess he has created. The owners are football illiterate so don't recognise it. They all point at the past hoping that will mean it will be alright. It won't !!"

Re: Moyes Out
"Lee Trundle, You forgot to mention that the ""serial loser""ù was the one that got us to the Europa League & Conference league in the first place. No other manager of ours has done that in 40 years. As far you're rewriting history to suggest we had it easy in Europe despite us beating some decent teams and only losing to the eventual winners in the semi final, do you remember Astra Giurgiu? Yep a previous manager we had also had a chance to get us to consecutive European campaigns and one of them was even a gift through a fair play award. What happened? Yep we lost TWICE to Romanian part timers in qualifying rounds. Never had it easier and we blew it TWICE. Puts the ""failure""ù to win a European semi final against the eventual winners into a bit of prospective doesn't it?"

Re: Moyes Out
"Also Moyes & the boys club pundits are playing it down by terming it as a ""bad run"". 35 odd games over the course of a year is not just a bad run. They conveniently overlook that in that year we have crashed out of Europe, slipped down the league from top 6 and passed up countless opportunities of another EL spot, to bottom 4 and a relegation battle despite spending 180m just a few months ago."
Re: Moyes Out
"Supposing we'd signed Scammacca last January and finally got the 2nd striker we all knew we needed because Antonio was an injury time bomb. Well we have him now and we're scoring less goals now than before. Transfers, no matter how much due diligence is put in, are never guaranteed. Even Fergie didn't always get it right. One of the biggest problems I have with all the accusations towards Moyes is, neither me or any of you are actually in that inner circle where decisions are made. We're all guessing/supposing and heavily influenced by what we want to believe. Truth is none us unless there to witness it, actually 100 % knows the truth."

Re: Moyes Out
"I'm sick to death of pundits keep going on about Europe""costing"" us. For fuck sake it's our second string players having a jog out on a Thursday and there's been months between our last European game and the next one."
Re: Moyes Out
He doesn't coach pass and move. He doesn't coach high press and intensity. Yesterday's man.
Re: Moyes Out
Under Moyes when it comes to the crunch we fall short April 2021 - losses at home to Everton and Chelsea which costs us champions league April 2022 - Europa semi final defeat May 2022 - loss at Brighton costing us place in Europa league I agree with everyone the issue was January. Not signing a striker cost us a trophy and Europa spot for this season. Our rise and now fall has been alarming even by our own standards. Are we in a worst position now than when he came back?

Re: Moyes Out
"If your look at the ties in the Europa League this season compared to last season, then I don't think we could have had it any easier. The same goes with the Conference this season. I don't think we'll get 2 better opportunities to win either for a very long time. Shame we have a serial loser in charge of us."

Re: Moyes Out
"Murphy & Co are part of the ""careful what you wish for"" brigade. If one of their ""big"" clubs had our dismal record over the last calendar year they would be calling for change. Even our successes last couple of seasons are relative and left us with a sense of disappointment and what should have been due to falling at the final hurdle every time. Could/ should have finished 4th the season we ended up 6th. Should have finished 6th last season to make up for wimping out in the EL semi and got a Europa League spot again, not 7th and the shitty conference league. Pathetic EL semi final surrender in both legs. Losing a semi final is not something to celebrate! We could / should have won that competition."

Re: Moyes Out
"I think that's an important way to maintain focus on Moyes performance. Moyes would say he needs time, we've had two Euro spots in 2 seasons, etc. In reality, he has to take responsibility for a major fuck up that has caused all of these consequences in an alarmingly short space of time. Probably Danny Murphy and co would do well to have a better understanding of what has happened"
Re: Moyes Out
"Yep, I think nigh on every fan has pin pointed back to January. It's why I don't have any sympathy for Moyes, harped on about not being able to get better than Antonio for 2 years and would only sign someone who's better. All that time waiting to end up signing Scamacca, so glad we didn't rush it."

"Not everybody did, Mad Dog. I was told numerous times to IN MOYES WE TRUST when I was going mental about it in January."
Re: Moyes Out
"Moyes said there was nobody available to buy who would have improved the team, so when he does sign players who are available (like in the summer) who should have definitely improved the team, we end up collectively looking worse. The bloke is a fraud who is not to be trusted will large amounts of money."

Yeah absolutely But I dare say no one would have said we'd end up where we are now because of it

Re: Moyes Out
"With the benefit of hindsight, the January 2022 window where we failed to buy anyone, was the tipping point into a steady decline ever since. What the fuck were they thinking? We only had one striker, and even he was a converted right back. Maybe it was all about Lingard, too many eggs in one basket, only to be let down in the summer anyway?"
