Re: Moyes Out
Rusta 1:07 Thu Dec 29 I'd be shocked if Noble got the gig even as caretaker. Would expect it to be Warburton given his experience while a wider search for a permanent manager is carried out.

Re: Moyes Out
I'm not sure what would turn out worse. The Owners or posters on here picking the new manager.

Re: Moyes Out
"Instead of getting on Souceks case as he has been a great player for us, we need to know why he has turned into an ineffective player within a year. Is it health/fitness, the way the manager wants him to play, due to his contract dispute or just unhappy? I wouldn't be starting him with his current output but we lack players who can defend set plays in the air especially when we have had centre backs out all year. If we had a couple of them back I'd be tempted to try Kehrer in that position however that isn't a role he has ever played to my knowledge so probably just as stupid a suggestion. Downes probably deserves a chance and a few back to back games to see if he can establish himself. Rice is almost certainly going in the summer so we really need to find an answer in centre midfield pretty quick."
Re: Moyes Out
"Parker did not say Soucek was not playing at the levels required for passing and pressing etc. He actually said that Soucek breaks up play very well but that this year he wasn't as good at scoring goals and at set plays as previously. So, he doesn't see the real issue with Soucek at all. But then, it's not like he watches us every week."
Re: Moyes Out
Surely if he starts with Soucek against Brentford everyone knows then he is taking the mick and daring the board to sack him? I'd sack him on the spot if the team sheet came in and Soucek was starting

Re: Moyes Out
"I would say Parker is the best of a bad bunch available and has shown he can improve teams ( albeit initially ). Not ideal but so few who are available that our owners will know about because unlike say Brighton , they won't have done their homework on managers across Europe and beyond. Like with buying players, Sullivan relies on agent mates Btw, saw an remark from Parker a couple of days back saying Soucek not playing at the levels required for passing and pressing etc For that reason alone, he's in :-)"
Re: Moyes Out
"Bielsa is where I'd go at this point. Perfect fit for the ethos of the club...plays on the front foot, fears no one even when he should, makes average players better, and gets them putting the ultimate shift in. Moyes is stinking the place out. Bielsa IN."

Re: Moyes Out
I don't think Martinez would be as bad an appointment as some are suggesting. Perhaps even comparable to Newcastle appointing Howe at a time when his stock was low as a manager and they were in a relegation battle.
Re: Moyes Out
Southbank - he took 2 of those 6 weeks off for a holiday in Florida . Whatever holiday reading he took with him did not include anything on modern coaching and tactics as evidenced by Monday night . A one trick pony. An immediate replacement is needed - as a short term I would take Scott Parker even though he is a preening mannequin on the sideline.
Re: Moyes Out
"southbankbornnbred 2:30 Wed Dec 28 Spot on Sir ! Even the half brained pundits like Neville, Murphy, Redknapp and Jenas talk about how teams now have to press and beat the press by being in the upper 80 and 90 % areas for passing accuracy and using squad to keep the running and closing stats up during a game. We have the oldest team and squad and worst pressing, running and passing stats in the league. We arguably are punching above our true position in 16th place ! Moyes and team fell off a cliff 11 months ago. The owners yet to see it because it means having to do something about it. They are paralysed, ""deer in tge headlights "" as they have been several times before over the last 12-13,years."
Re: Moyes Out
"We have played 16 premier league games this year winning 4, drawing 2 and loosing the rest. Not good enough. The slide started last season and is now precipitous. Good will eroded. His team and people management is poor. Not many of us had much idea about Haller; Anderson or Vlasic (post Everton). They came with solid reputations but, ultimately, failed under Moyes. Health aside with Haller, none of them are failing now. Of those that have joined this year I had genuine doubts about Emerson before he came and Kehrer looks a suspect panic buy, otherwise, albeit late in the day acquisitions a not uninspiring group of players. Moyes can do nothing about the injuries to Cornet and Aguerd but the ""talent"", Scammaca; Paqueta and Downes has not been well used or assimilated into a progressive way of playing. They have been sledgehammered into the same negative way, playing either out of position or simply so isolated as to be ineffectual. Using Moyes type tactics Poland made Lewandowski look crap in the world cup so what chance has Scammaca realistically got at West Ham when used the same way in a similar set up? Downes might stay but the other will be sold for a loss to rebuild careers elsewhere. Moyes insists on digging out Benrahma who has the temerity to try something different and doesn't fulfill his defensive duties. What message does that send to anyone of talent even thinking of coming here? let alone the impact on Benrahma himself. For the first time against the Arsenal I felt Rice had an air of ""I've had enough of this shit"" in his play and demeanour. You can't blame him, despite being on his way he has been heart and soul to the point of sitting in the stands at Fulham when he could have taken the time off. Moyes is four square responsible for the shit with team selections, poor use of substitutes, rigid, inappropriate tactics and piss poor people management. He simply will not play to the strengths of the talent he has available to him. That causes problems and leads to losses. We won't get a tier one manager, parsimony and the Dildo's reputation will see to that, but we should be going after someone who is progressive, a good man manager and inclined to get the best out of a squad. Thomas Frank would have been a good shout; Rogers or Martinez may not be ideal but better than what we have now. Moyes started well but has outstayed his welcome. It is a game to be played with a smile, the West Ham way, no one is smiling whether on the pitch or on the terraces, other than the opposition."

Re: Moyes Out
Jorge Sampaoli an attack minded coach who endears himself to the supporters with his passion on the line. The Argentinian has an ultra modern outlook and would certainly get bums off seats. Too risky for our board as said Benitez suits them.
Re: Moyes Out
"I would love it if the board could pull something unexpected out of the bag. But they have been with us for 13 years and they haven't done that yet. The closest they came was Bilic, who actually looked the part for a year. Other than that, they have opted for managers who already have Premier League experience, which more often means someone who has already failed. They have always gone with managers who are out of a job, which usually means they have failed. They tend to go with older managers, which usually means they have failed more than once. That is their model, and partly explains why they have never been successful."
Re: Moyes Out
"Realistically we need someone, anyone, for the short term who can keep us.up this summer. Then we need to be bold, fire them no matter what they've achieved, find the right man for 3 years and get him in within 2 weeks of being safe."
Re: Moyes Out
I might be sticking my neck out here but am I right in saying since Lyall was sacked in 89 so in 33 years we have only signed one manager (Pellegrini) who has won anything? Well of note. Now that's depressing.
Re: Moyes Out
"Oh and I would bet a pound to a pinch of shit that it will be Rafa - the board thought they had him before and I don't doubt they would go again, in fact, it would not surprise me if dialogue has already opened* *Through preferred agents"
Re: Moyes Out
"Martinez does not float my boat in the slightest - a professional 'nice guy' devoid of any tactical ability - Exhibit A: Belgium Rafa is a divisive wrongun on all fronts and will cause absolute carnage behind the scenes for the privilege of an extortionate salary, loves a pound only marginally more than himself - Exhibit B: Newcastle We need a forward thinking, tactically flexible and proactive track suit manager. Swiftly followed by a clear out of the backroom staff who have presided over the debacle They are about - Exhibit C: Brighton"
