Moyes Out ( Released )
"Posted the same last year. Nothing has changed, except win don't win matches anymore. I'm fed up, we can do much better"
Re: Moyes Out
"Pedro 11:30 Fri Dec 2. The performance against Arsenal will be telling. He has had 6 weeks to prepare for it Isn't this bit of a silly thing to say? Many of our best players are at the WC How can he prepare without a full squad ? Unless you say well the players returning won't play in the premier league immediately because they might need a rest in which case it'll be the same for the Arse. Also whilst I can completely understand that the board would be reluctant to give Moyes any more money to spend given our summer signings haven't exactly set the world alight, it could be the catalyst to kick start our season. If we could find someone like a Lingard or Payet that can carry the ball forward with pace from midfield and get us scoring a few more goals it could kick start us."

Re: Moyes Out
"He has enough players They can all play football They have either done it well for us or their previous clubs in the past Buying more players is not the answer Changing how we play and using the squad to combat each opponent on their merits is the answer To get there, we have to change the manager However, a new manager might convince Rice to stay and Sullivan won't want that. Rice is an asset they want to cash in on before they cash in on the whole club. We are being screwed over"
Re: Moyes Out
I am surprised hasn't gone already. Perfect time with time to prepare and also transfer window open in couple of weeks. The performance against Arsenal will be telling. He has had 6 weeks to prepare for it.
Re: Moyes Out
"Sir Alf 8:44 Fri Dec 2 Yes but I'll bet we spend something although it won't be much. As has been said, why would you spend £160m backing a manager's judgement and then watch that manager make us worse so give him more money to waste. I think GSBK will sack him very soon unless there's a massive improvement. I don't expect any improvement to happen"

Re: Moyes Out
The GSB will not sack Moyes for fear that a new manager of any calibre might convince Rice to stay. Everything is perfectly set up for them as it is.
Re: Moyes Out
I don't see why any club owner would give more cash to spend to a manager who spent £150m in the summer and somehow made his team worse. Usually if you're spending to avoid relegation it's because you have severe injury problems or not enough decent players. Neither are particularly true in our case.
Re: Moyes Out
Could well be the case that GSB are running for the exit door as Sullivan has let C&H know that there is no money to be spent despite us being in a relegation fight. https://www.claretandhugh.info/candh-exclusive-big-winter-window-problems-for-moyes/

Re: Moyes Out
I watched a video on the west ham irons channel the other day with Jas and Frankie. That young fella Frankie talks a hell of a lot of sense . And none more so that the club is in absolutely desperate need of being sold . And GSB have completely checked out which is exactly why Moyes is still in charge.

Re: Moyes Out
Bloody good point I just read . Southgate is Sullivans dream manager if anyone thinks it can't get any worse than Moyes think again.

"Sir Alf, totally agree. You can also count The Netherlands to that list of countries. LVG completely destroyed Dutch football's identity. F*cking disgrace."

Re: Moyes Out
"Stowie.40 5:14 Thu Dec 1 Re: Moyes Out With Rice's comments today which basically confirms him leaving it's a hard job to sell to Poch with his best player leaving. Pochettino joined Tottenham in May 2014 after Gareth Bale had left for Madrid the previous September. If he joined now he could be in control of rebuilding the team when Rice goes. Players come & go, thats football. Have asked before where else in England is he going if not to use. None of the top 6 currently or Super League cunts are looking right now."
Re: Moyes Out
That Poch interview is interesting Said wants a new job straight after World Cup. Would prefer a project type job. Wants to manage in premier league and London remains his home.
Re: Moyes Out
"We almost forgot what it was like being a West Ham fan for 18 months during lockdown 1 to early 2021. The Jan non spend was the end of the beginning. We began the slide then and Moyes was able to cover that by going deep into the Europa and getting enough points to see us qualify for the Conference. Its a bit like what they call ""score board fans"" who only look at the result but not more carefully at the performances etc. Between Feb and May we only beat strugglers. That masked the fact that teams had worked us out, counterattacking team you need to press, set pieces and Antonio stopped scoring. Moyes and owners sat on their hands, congratulating themselves on where we had got, the Europa etc.. and dined out on it while our league form and results were showing serious decline. No matter, big spend in the summer will fix things. It was big for us but not really completed until after the season began. Then we get the manager talking about ""time for integration needed"", congratulating the players again for the last 2 seasons and no real changes to the way we play. Even worse no real sign of new signings playing. Reluctantly almost Scamacca comes in, Kehrer the exception due to injury but that was about it. Then Paqueta out of position or at least not the one he was at Lyon in. The obsession with Soucek in midfield was the one that made no sense and was almost that definition of insanity. So Sullivan continues to sit on his hands, the chance to keep Rice gone and the team to being the worst or close to worst in the division. ""While Rome burns, Sullivan fiddles"". We are one of the 3 most likely teams to be relegated based on form. Will Moyes implement a new way to play? He never has before so why now? Did he really chose and buy the players? Well looking at how he's using them no. Moyes was very vocal as were the club about the fact he was in control of everything. Was that the classic ""reverse psychology"" statement ? ""He doth protest too much"" kind of thing? Who knows? Anyway, the only certainty, based on history, is we will wait too long and that 18 months of relative success will be consigned to the history books. Add that to the 7 other decent seasons where we achieved a good league position or cup win. Out of the last 65 years. A large loyal fan base and support that has seen a success rate of what 7 - 8%? Oh well, yet another ""what could have been"" :-("
