Didn't GVB get Rangers to the Europa league Final? As far as I'm aware that's better than the semi final. #creditinthebank

Manuel 12:40 Mon Nov 21 It could be perfect timing. He's a Rangers man (ex-Celtic player) and has expressed his desire to be the manager of the Old Firm clubs. I pray he fancies it.

I've heard from a good source that Moyes' contract had substantial bonuses baked in but in return also failure clauses - namely if we are in the bottom 3 after half way point he can be relieved of his duties with minimal pay out. 4 games to go.

"The Arsenal game will be rinse repeat of the Scouse and Manc away games. Defend, defend, defend go 1 or 2 nil down start playing football in the second half. Moyes says we drew the second half. Everyone happy. He is a cսnt and will do absolutely nothing different. Against Brentford, rinse, repeat. Moyes blames whatever he can cling to to blame for yet another defeat or at best a draw. Bottom 3. Then hopefully he gets sacked. There cant be many sides that can have the Brazilian, probable World Cup Winner, midfield starter, the England midfielder that always starts and the Italian centre forward at his disposal and still 'manage' to fuck it up. get rid now FFS"

"Understand Moyes has assured Sullivan he is ready to win at Arsenal The previous 80 games without a win at Arsenal, Chelsea, Man U & Liverpool have all been preparation for this one. What are you going to do differently, Moyesie? Nothing. Same same (*taps nose*)"

"It looks like ( if t'internet reports are to be believed ) that we have this 20 year old CB from S√£o Paulo in Brazil lined up for the Jan window. I assume he is to replace Dawson? Another footballing CB that doesn't launch it 60 yards to no one. Moyes won't play him until his at least 30 and has experience and his coaching team have taught him not to ""fanny around with it""ù. Old school methods from the Jurassic Park book of football tactics"

"Agree Willtell. Perhaps the last 2 seasons ( up to the semi final defeat ) were ""as good as it gets""ù for us West Ham fans? My Dad and Grandad ( attendee at White Horse Final) waited for that golden era. I'm well into my 60s now and will pass the baton ( curse ?) onto my kids and grandkids. We did share a mini golden era in the mid 60s but again only 4 or so seasons. I was a young boy who at least enjoyed that. Since then 55-60 years of mostly underachievement and unfulfilled potential for a very faithful patient support. I count about 7 or 8 seasons from the last 60 where we achieved.something and looked like this was our time. Every time fizzled out due to owners who did not realise it takes continued investment and a long term strategy or plan to build a club that competes at the top every season. Of course the TV money then ""tilted the table""ù, ""rigged the game""ù to favour heavily those with the richest owners but we have always been saddled with owners and managers that are second rate. Moyes will be sacked soon I think and we begin the whole ""Groundhog Day""ù cycle again with some other 2nd rate man at the helm to match the 2nd rate owners. COVID masked Moyes deficiencies and allowed him to overachieve for about 15 months until he got found out around late 2020. Been slowly going downhill ever since and has just picked up pace. The owners, press, pundits and Ex players still not seeing the decline started a year ago and simply quote the league placing last season and semi final appearance which were ""defeats snatched from the jaws of defeat""ù by a manager who was not bold and did not push for Jan reinforcements as his methods were found out. I spoke to a couple of Manc fans who said they knew Moyes was not their man when in an interview before a game against Liverpool after about 10 games into his tenure at United, Moyes spoke about how Liverpool were favourites for the game at OldTrafford and how good they were. United had been champions under Fergie of course in the previous season and at that point a win against Liverpool would have got United into the top 6 and striking distance. Nothing much will change when we return. A loss 0-2 to Arsenal and claims from Moyes that we played well."

"In short, a bloke that manages the biggest and richest club in Argentina, gets the pick of the best players, challenges for trophies season after season and doesn't speak English is the last manager GSBK will employ to fight a relegation battle for WHU. Sorry if that upsets some wishful thinkers but I just cannot see that happening as nice as it might have been possible to get him before this season. But we'd need to have visionary owners for that to have happened..."

"Sir Alf, all the managers Sully hired at Birmingham were in their 40s, as was Bilic. Pellegrini is the only manager over 60 that he's ever hired, so I don't think he really skews that way. Side, to be fair, Willtell does have a point about River Plate being richer than other clubs in Argentina, but the 14 trophies and 3 consecutive South American Coach of the Year awards make Gallardo their most successful ever manager in any case."

To be fair Willtell did say he knew nothing about him before going on to explain how his limited knowledge on him made him qualified to judge how he'd do......
