Meerkat So you're saying that GSBK signed all the players except Aguerd! Even though Moyes has repeatedly asserted that only he gets to decide on signings. I don't like GSB but honestly mate that's a conspiracy theory too far.

"I'd hoped he'd be gone by now , but looks like he will be in charge for Wolves . By fuck , that game will have the neutrals tuning in in their millions . Moyes is lucky with this fixture , they don't score goals either , but a draw is no good . It seems to me that all bar Aguerd were not his signings and he is giving two fingers to the board by not playing or giving them cameos . I think he has lost the regulars as well who wanted new faces and to be rotated themselves for the good of the team . Maybe a naive view . However if I had a business and spent £150 million on it and it wasn't be run properly then £ 10 million or whatever would be money well spent to replace the underperforming management."

"NJ The season was just bang average. After the Liverpool win P27 W10 D6 L11. The EL run was great but failed at the easiest hurdle. Palace had a semi final run in the FA Cup. Ours was given a huge success by the media but 56 points was 11th the season before. Most of us could see his failings and as far as he can take us status easily. We could also see that he wouldn't make the changes required. No Youth, squad use,no signings and subs. It wasn't that hard to see. Noble taking the penalty against Man U people forgot about that. We got 7th as some of the big boys had a mare too This season he is doing similar things. We haven't got the wins. Have been lucky in Europe too. He's close to wrecking this season too."

":-) ""some go on like he's too good for us"" I don't think he's too good for us. I'd say he's exactly the type of manager we would need to take on the next level after Moyes. My concern is, that coming from PSG, he would think he was too good for us. But if he's thinking about Nice, then we should at least have a look."

"Ag! That's better. To be honest I wouldn't mind having him. I like the fact that he's known for attacking football and bringing through youngsters. It just sticks in my craw a bit when people make out that his record is better than it is, and some go on like he's too good for us. He ain't."

"Nagel 2:00 Thu Sep 22 Yeah, looking at it I'm probably doing him a disservice by saying challenging for the top 4. I probably should have put constantly finishing in the top 4 instead."

"So, by finishing 4th twice and 5th twice they weren't already challenging for the top 4? OK."

"Nagel 1:43 Thu Sep 22 ""In the 5 seasons before Pochettino joined Spurs they finished 4th twice, 5th twice and 6th once."" Yeah, looking at it I'm probably doing him a disservice by saying top 6. I probably should have put challenging for the top 4 instead."

Nagel - I would also add the signing of Son in 2015 (by Pochettino) was also a factor.

"I really don't know where the fuck to be with this? As Stewie said in an earlier post it's a bit of a myth we had a shit second half to the season. Out of nineteen games, we won seven, drew three and lost eight, giving us twenty five points, hardly relegation form. Of the eight lost, four were away to the so called 'Big 6' teams, which does pose a big question mark against Moyes. In the last eight games, admittedly the wheels fell off a bit, with two wins, two draws and four losses but they were totally knackered by then but having said that why not use Vlasic (in his proper position) Kral and some of the youngsters who were outstanding in the early stages of the Europa? This season his treatment of Benerahma and Downes has been shocking as has his continued selection of Soucek and Bowen who are woefully out of form. Something's not quite right, even Rice has been relatively poor and shamefully we look unfit which Moyes has always priortised and made such a big thing of!"

"""He's got the experience of taking a top half team Premier League team into one that seems to be constantly challenging the top 6"" In the 5 seasons before Pochettino joined Spurs they finished 4th twice, 5th twice and 6th once. The biggest change came with them suddenly having a top drawer CF in Harry Kane, who'd become a 1st team regular only just before Pochettino got the job."

Noble just been appointed Sporting director - only thing he don't take his post until Jan 2nd. Moyes need him in there now.

"That's harsh on Poch's time at spurs. I hate spurs more than the next person but for 3 years or so he built one of the most exciting sides to watch. Full backs in Walker & Rose who flew forward, Dembele in midfield was brilliant & Alli, Eriksen & Kane scored for fun. I hate the fact he is so loved at spurs but I'd look past that if he wanted the gig here."

"I think that's being a little too harsh on him, stewie. He's got the experience of taking a top half team Premier League team into one that seems to be constantly challenging the top 6, whilst playing decent football. That's what we probably want right now, isn't it? I said last year that Moyes has taken us as far as he's ever going to take us, and a manager like that is exactly who I think we should be looking at next. Unfortunately there aren't too many managers out there that fit the bill, and Pochettino is probably the only manager available out there that does. I think all this discussion on him is pointless though, and I'm still not entirely convinced he'd join. I just got a little interest when I saw he was contemplating Nice."

"I have been the biggest critic of Sullivan and what he has done but even I am seeing the recruitment this summer and thinking they are all quality players and not cheap ""pound land""ù types of the past or older has beens looking for just a big pay packet in their late 20s or early 30s. So cannot really direct current form from start of the season and disjointed football down to them this time. I really want to but can't :-) I think we all know that to get established as a top 6 or 8 team will require continuous material investment. Not the eye watering amount this summer but near the 100 million mark. But u have to see some success. Leicester did it climbing tge ladder, winning things but then within 18 months spent too much, stuck with Rodgers while FFP kIcked in and have gone down a proverbial ""snake""ù . We climbed a ladder, won nowt and then spent big but after 7 games deserve to be where we are. The new players need to play whenever possible or why buy them? Ok it takes a while to get them to integrate culturally, get family and accommodation and it's only been a few weeks. But we should be building the new system and tactics around them. I would argue it's the old players that need to be retrained too and that's perhaps a part of the problem. Also Paul Nevin and Nolan? Have they ever worked with or played for teams that play possession based, high tempo, pressing systems? Just buying that sort of player won't just make it happen and of course you have to actually play them to do it ! I fear Moyes talks a good game and really a ts to it but has no experience of playing anything other than a fast breaking, counter attacking game. Teams can learn to handle it and have. I really wish Aguerd was available ( as does Moyes ) he was pivotal to the transition I suspect. Anyway sound out Poch as he seems the only obvious alternative a available and give Moyes the next few games to revive things and make tge changes. If not we have little choice but make a change"
