I like her but I've not found an Arctics cover I've liked and unfortunately I'm not in to that one either. Do I wanna know is immense. That whole album bar one or two that just aren't as good as the rest of the album should be remembered in 25 plus years.

Of the two.bands i'd probably prefer The Gorillaz but i didnt intend to spark a debate comparing the two as its a taste thiing

"The Arctic Monkeys ""lost""ù a fair few fans with their latest album which I think is very good. I went to see them at the MEN last year and people walked out to get a drink etc when they played the new stuff. That said folk only stood up when they played tunes from AM. Maybe music has glory hunters too? Gorillaz were probably more complex long before the Arctics started going that way but as music shouldn't be maths maybe adjectives like complex shouldn't be used for music."

The Arctic Monkeys drummer is fucking excellent. Music taste is weird thing and I like stuff from classical to extreme metal and all things in between as long as they are not bland and hackeyed. Music should stir emotion.

There's a lot of snobbery when it comes to musical tastes that I find laughable. Not sure that's a great deal of progression. My 16 year old loves 70s disco and funk but I did drag him to see see the Damned a few weeks ago and he loved it. They are bloody good live though.

My 15 year old has progressed from the Gorillaz to the Arctic Monkeys. In evolutionary terms I am not sure if its a step forward or back. Gonna think about it while i listen to.the Specials.
