An opportunity missed to play Olly Scarles at left back... but he did play the other night for the U21s so maybe not able to. But he could have been saved for this game....

I have SKY Sports, so am I reading right that it will be on the new SKY Sports + via the RED BUTTON?

Hoping we take this seriously and give the competition a real go this season.

(loving you can now highlight stuff and use colours!)

If not through a Sky box, you can only watch it through the Sky sports app on a phone, right?

asking just as I’m away from home and would like to find a way to watch it. Any advice gratefully received. Cheers!

Hoping it takes more seriously than Moyes. I am still fuming with Moyes over the quarter final at Anfield last year.

International break coming up. So no excuse really. I can understand a few squad changes but it's an opportunity to build on the Palace win and build momentum.

Totally agree. Trouble is with a big squad, few games, and a big spend, can't see Lopetegui doing anything other than focussing on European qualification, using the cups for squad run outs.

Hope to be wrong....

I know we say it every year, but I'd reallly love it if we took the cups seriously and had a right go at them. Defo something we can win! Especially with the reduced schedule now we're out of Europe

Nagel 10:55 Wed Aug 28 Absolutely correct. No VAR until semi final.

"Expecting a few changes in the starting lineup tonight. I'm wondering what the fuck has happened to Guilherme - not even on the bench for the first two matches. Don't think he pulled up any trees in the pre-season games, but that could be said about several. Not been impressing in training, maybe? Anyone got any insights?"

Last season VAR was only used in the Carabao cup from the semis onwards. Made no difference if the game was at a PL ground. Expect it's the same this year.

"Careful Martillo, or I'll come and rip down all your posters. As for VAR, I believe there is always VAR when a game is played at a PL stadium."
