We always seem to struggle in this fixture. At least Zaha isn’t there anymore. Hopefully at least one of Bowen or Kudus is fit.

"Coffee - They say they are a tough nut to crack if you go one down against them, but don't know if stats back that up, or it's just a bit of a myth. Woy is due, and needs, a result. Going to be tight, I feel."

"Hopefully a nice 3 points to put us on the yids tails with them to play next week. Might perk us up a bit with something to play for. Win, lose or draw, Moyes will set up as if we’re playing Brazil, playing us under Moyes is such a gift for opposing teams, no homework required."

Paqueta’s form has dipped alarmingly in the last few games. He is being played as a box-to-box midfielder with defensive duties out wide and the strain is telling on the man. Soucek’s goals have so far compensated but this cannot last; he’s either going to get crocked or carded. It’s just a matter of time.

"Our last four at home to them LDDL, we had a very good record at theirs too till losing there last season. Definitely turned into a bogie team for us at home. When we played them last season they hadn't won away yet or scored an away goal for 2 months and we sat back and let them play us off the park until they took the lead. They did end up winning with a massive deflected last minute goal Hopefully we start better and don't do the same tomorrow. Oh and Paqueta not so deep but not as forward as a 10.. He was brilliant first 4 or 5 games of the season, breaking up play he's not been the same since being out on the left. Most of our team rarely pass the ball forward we saw it the other night it's all very slow. I haven't actually seen Palace play this season so have no idea if they're any good."

"All being even we should win, but they have some handy players who can hurt you, albeit Eze is out again. At Burnley I called a 1-1 or a narrow win for us, will go with that again. Remember, we are shit and pretty much can't do anything, least of all create openings."

"Palace have been all over the place recently, Woy has to be on thin ice so if we beat them, and we should! He may well be the first to get the chop? We do have a chequered history against Palace though and in recent history its alway close and only a goal in it each game, they beat us Home (4-3) and at the Cesspit (2-1) last season. I fancy us to get the points this time though. COYI"

"I find this never ending debate about players correct, or best, positions really irritating. Not saying anyone is right or wrong, and it may be a permanent debate on other fans forums, I wouldn't know, is it discussed heavily on KUMB? I appreciate the game has evolved a lot and systems and tactics are all important, but what happened to just putting your best eleven out and playing well? Anyway, on the subject, is Paqueta's best position really deep mid? Surely a player with his abilities should be further forward? How can he hurt the opp from deep mid? To add, if he is out on the left again on Sunday, while not ideal, it's still no excuse not to have an impact on the game, and no excuse to be fannying around like he does. He needs to step up."

"We started the season with one defensive midfielder. Then it went to 2 . Now it's 3. JWP started with goals and assists. Since our best game against Brighton he's played further back. His corners and set pieces have been getting worse. We don't attack enough for anyone to be fouled near the penalty box.he hasn't scored from a set piece in 18 games, must be a record. Alvarez is best when he sits in front of the defence,ON HIS OWN. JWP played in a similar position the last 2 seasons for Southampton, the last of which they were relagated. Over the last 3 or 4 games JWP has hardly played a forward pass or cross, nearly everything is sideways or backwards. People moaned that Soucek wasn't scoring enough because of Rice. Now he's scoring. be careful what you wish for. i can't see this being very entertaining. Mubama will probably get 7 minutes at the end of the game.he's had his chance"

"It's hard to drop Soucek on this goalscoring run and Moyes certainly wont, despite his lack of passing ability. I'm actually at the point I cant even be arsed to think about the team I'd like to see, I have no real desire to watch the game and I dont think we'll get a result. I dont think I've ever been less interested. Cheers Moyes."
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Crystal Palace - Official Match Thread - Preview
"Last night, Soucek, apart from his goal, showed he has got football vision. He attempted two good cross field passes. The first landed almost where he intended it, the recipient managed to control the ball, although the move then fizzled out. I asked myself if Soucek has got that in his locker, why doesn't he do it more often. The second looked like a hoof into nowhere, though I think he saw a player free in a great position, but was totally unable to find him with the ball. If the ball usually went where he wanted it to go, he'd be a great player (Aunts, Uncles, balls, etc)"

I like the look of The Fonz team. I’d like to see how Soucek would manage as a false 9…

fraser’s team. Won’t ever happen though.
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Crystal Palace - Official Match Thread - Preview
"No I'd play Paqueta I his best position which is deep midfield, and then play JWP where he's not wasted as a DM.. Where he can pick a pass. Which means no room for Soucek, so Cornet would at on the left which is his position., where he can cross the ball and carry it. You know players where they will be most effective, not 4 central midfielders when there is only room for three"

The shit that has produced 4 wins in a row? You'd play Cornet over Soucek. You are a bigger idiot than I thought.
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Crystal Palace - Official Match Thread - Preview
Oh and when we beat Brighton he got injured early.. Probably our best league performance of the season.. I would like to see us play with a three in the middle who can knock it about and help us keep possession and get up the pitch without the need for long balls.
